When people usually discuss syrian-lebanese relations/problems, they inevitably come to talk about the difference between the totalitarian regime in Syria in contrast with the democratic system of Lebanon. This could not irritate me further.

21 May 2008: Doha agreement.
A new Lebanon was born.
This agreement has made obsolete the previous Taef agreement (30 september 1989) that has tried to define a post-war Lebanon that was characterized by an Arabic- and International-licensed syrian mandate.
Today's agreement will definitely change the region's situation -at least partly. The rebirth of Lebanon will make Syria, Israel, USA, Iran, France and Saudi Arabia change their calculations. They...
