I am a member of this forum since the 10th of February 2005 and passed through all possible phases of the forum from member to the administration member. I had the honour to serve the forum in the moderation, in the “Board of Advisors” , in the “Board of Trustees” and as a Political Team Leader.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
The time of a Team Leader was the time that i mostly gathered experience, in moderating and in working with a great team of moderators , on the side of Chief, Kolar as political TLs , a successfull cooperation with the Community TL and of course the admin. During this periode , the team succeeded to manage one if the most difficult month the forum had to pass through which is the July war and not to forget all the possible ups and downs the country had to pass through , those ups and downs were to be found duirng this periode on the forum.

I candidate myself for the postition of Political Team Leader .

Honestly,
i m against the idea of choosing all the moderators!
here is my view:
the political team leaders are chosen regarding their program!
Once they are elected, they have to propose to all the members their policy and to define rules and how the forum will be lead

For the moderators, i would like to make it this way:
No elections, but during a certain period (3 days), members propose to political team leaders the name of moderators( LIKE isticharet in Lebanon), and upon these propositions, these moderators are chosen!!
Cause for me a political team leader is elected by the member and thus should start his work by taking the members opinion!
In my program i said that each member should feel that hes a part of the forum, and this is one one of the ways to do it

correction:i have never declared myself to be a member or part of hezballah.because i sympathize with resistance against occupation or specific policies of a party doesnt necessarily make me part of that party.for example amal supporters sympathize with policies of another party.does that make them part of the party?i consider myself independent.

briefly let me summarize what i believe on the following issues:

1- Political system in Lebanon
-it is a must that we scrap the current system.we need a secular system.why i dislike using the term "secular" is because most people who are secular in lebanon choose to be because they are obsessed with religion.in my view "secularism" is not anti-religion.

2- Current political crisis:
if both the opposition and the loyalists implement their words on sovereignty, lebanon will be in the best of form.i do agree with the opposition in regards with resistance against "israel".i do agree with the loyalists in regards to having mutual relationship with syria-prisoners,embassies,border,etc.i disagree with loyalist in regards to syria in using lebanon as an american launch pad to fight damascus.and syria is not equal to "israel".i also believe the best man that can unite lebanon and cleanse it is GMA.

3- political affiliation(if there is)-non

4- Palestinian issue and the camps
-their weapons must and should be laid down peacefully or confiscated by the LA.they are guests.we dont need anyone to ride our backs in our backyards.no naturalization.and if their cause lingers on,they must be resettled.we dont need bribes from the arabs to tolerate the palestinians.the bribe causes more harm than good.

5- Syria, Israel, Usa, Ksa, Iran
-throw out all their ambassadors.rather out of frustration with foreign interference,we need a president that will parade the ambassadors of the above mentioned countries live on TV and flog them mercilessly until they bleed!!!we need mutual relationships only and no interference.

6- Armed groups
-only the army and the resistance should be armed.the resistance if there is national unity and love should be open for all to join.it should as it is be in good terms with the army and there should be cooperation.the resistance should not be merged with the army any soon.when there is no threat, the resistance should lay down its weapons volutarily.

7- Lebanese national army
-make the army stronger.give them sophisticate weapons.if the army is strong enough to defend us,there would be no need for an independent resistance movement except as in the case in lebanon they can work together for a stronger country militarily.

I announce my candidacy for a political moderator charge.

Toni aborded some general aspects we could all agree on, but let's go deeper about the moderation itself.

A political moderator should interfere in last resort.

Now some few points he should focus on :

Off-topic posts should be deleted from the root. Very often, one off-topic post could lead to many pages of off-topic posts in reply. A moderator if he judges accordingly should delete everything. Sometimes, despite being off-topic, a discussion may be rich in content. Therefore, the moderator should split, merge or open a new thread, an easier way to avoid any ambiguity. This may be subject to a warning, following a possible ban in extreme cases.

Ad hominem. Every member is intitled to his own opinion and discrediting a member's post on his political affiliation among others shouldn't be tolerated. The forum has been witnessing a lot of this posts lately. It's a logical fallacy : the member compromises himself and weakens his position. This may be subject to a warning, following a possible ban in extreme cases.

SPAM. This is now an official FPM forum. This is in no way a promotion tool for other parties, whether current political allies or opponents. This concerns few members that would recognize themselves.

Articles are now cleared the administration which is a good tool. Posting large articles without a summary or a sufficient comment is forbidden. Posting articles as an argument is weak, a member should elaborate his own opinion on what and why he agrees on. This would prevent futile discussions.

A political moderator should by definition limit any excess. He is not here to promote the forum. By doing his job, he will sure help to safeguard this thin line between freedom of speech and censorship and making this forum an example of diversity and tolerance. Also, a moderator should abide the rules and is subject to the same measures as everyone else. It is up to the members to create a variety of quality threads where each political party could share his opinion. Make the moderators work in a positive way, by submitting interesting polls, posting analytic articles and voicing your own editorials.

Also, a bit about me. I've been on this forum for almost 2 years. I never had any disagreement with any members. I do not post often because I am rather a rational thinker and analyser. I read all the posts and make a general idea about the members and topics. I know the members by the way they act, they write and they think as most of them have been here for few months and years.

I won't answer the questions raised by Boiler as they are IMHO not related to the moderation charge. Only a point that may concern the members, I am politically affiliated to FPM by principles.
