- I am for a secular system based on the Human Rights declaration which will assure the rights of all the lebanese as citizens. I am also for a regional state which will give autonomy to the State vis-a-vis of the communities and to the communities vis-a-vis of the State. If this project is not agreed by all, i want to defend the principles of the lebanese democracy: the consensus and the parity.
- Current political crisis is based on three problems: an international one between the US and Iran, a regional one between Saudi Arabia/Egypt/Jordan (the so-called sunni camp) and Syria/Iran (the so-called shia camp) and a national one between those who want to keep Aoun, the FPM and the christians out of the power and those who are allied with Aoun and the FPM. These three problems participate to the current political crisis in Lebanon.
- I am with the Liberty Front, the political offspring of the Lebanese Forces Resistance. Its general coordinator is Dr Fouad Abou Nader, former commander of the Lebanese Forces Resistance and former Bachir Gemayel companion.
- About the solution of the Palestinian refugee problem, former Foreign Minister Faris Buwayz has suggested a four-track approach (al-Safir 1996: 18 April). The first component is a call for the implementation of the right of return, as stated in the United Nations Resolution 194. This, according to Buwayz, will accommodate 20 per cent of Palestinians in Lebanon. They would not return to Israel, but to the regions that are under the control of the National Authority. Second, the plan calls for the return of Palestinians to countries where they have families and relatives in the Arab world as well as in other countries. Such family reunification will accommodate 25 per cent of Palestinians living in Lebanon. Third, emigration to countries such as Canada, Australia, and the United States should be facilitated, by giving Palestinians priority over other immigrant groups. Fourth, Middle Eastern countries, particularly those that are wealthy and have significant economic resources, should contribute to the settlement of the problem by giving the Palestinians employment opportunities and the possibility of settling in these countries. I support this plan.
- I am for positive neutrality of Lebanon.
- Our Army should be the only one armed force in Lebanon. About the Hezbollah weapons, i agree on the Memorandum of Understanding about the FPM and Hezbollah. I am for the islamic resistance becomes a brigade inside of our Army in the framework of a defense plan and security law.
- All my supports to our Army.
