(knowing that sometimes, i chose the media and impose it on the ad agency)

In general, the budget is spread among TVs according to their ratings. Nowadays, OTV is #2 station after LBC, and that according to the most biased measuring tool: stat-ipsos that is part of Choueiry monopoly. So logically, if we want to abide by stat-ipsos, OTV should have the 2nd part of the pie.

But... unfortunately OTV dont!

Many advertising agencies are boycotting OTV, other company owners dont want to hear about OTV, others fight against OTV and so on...
Carrera, i still miss a point: if you are the owner of a whisky brand and you want to advertise it on TV and your agency refuse to advertise it on OTV for a clear political reason. doesnt this jeopordize their business relation with you? especially if they admit that OTV is No. 2 TV station in Leb? i know that advertising agencies especially choueiri group play with the stats results to convince their client to advertise wherever the agency want, but admitting OTV is No. 2 and still refusing to deal with them?? i'm sure there must be a lot of other advertising companies who would love to take your business.

1- Elie Khoury is director of Saatchi & Saatchi and he is behind many adds to Hariri from the campaign in 2000 elections (قولنا و العلم) to 2005 electoral campaign (لأجلك).

he was also involved in teaching Saad Hariri to be more charismatic and even change his accent.

on top he's involved with the US army in Iraq making adds for the latest Iraqi elections and in Jordan as well..

He's a regular visitor to DC and especially Cafe Milano.. This guy is well connected at all levels, especially when it comes to business with the americans..

by the way, he is good at what he does, he is gifted..

2- we cannot impose on companies to use OTV. they may have all the reasons in the world (besides politics) to use other more competitive TV stations..

3- in response to point #2, i think that OTV should release surveys revealing the true position of OTV in the market and how attractive it is and with good prices, big companies (with no political affiliations) will pressure Choueiri and others to advertise on OTV..

Since you don't have a proof that there's political reasons about the lack of ads on OTV, why you started attacking left and right? Don't you think if politics wasn't behind this, you are going to make it worse with these companies and will make them fight OTV anyways.
Why someone biased will rank OTV #2?
How can an ad company force a retail dealer not to advertise on a channel.

Don't you think it's more logical that the business owners are boycotting you and not the ad agencies?
Why would the biggest companies in the country functionning from Downtown Beirut or has its biggest and fanciest branches there, place ads in OTV when FPM is in the lead in damaging their businesses?
Why the companies of your allies do not advertise in OTV? How come 70% of the christians doesn't have companies to promote?

A3sabak ya leb-wi-noss;
To start the statistics were released by Stat-Ipsos.

Second, no body confirmed that the reason is political and people here are giving their opinion for both cases wether it is political or not.

Third, your approach regarding companies in downtown beirut not advertising on OTV is completely wrong, who told you that all of them don't?

Last, shou khass 70% of the christian bi advertising on OTV, this thread main point was to find competitive ways in a competitive market, so where did you get that analysis from? Baleha hal approach mish a7san wala you prefer to talk just for the sake of it.

Let me see, I never knew that johnny walker and MTC had businesses in DT, thanx for enlightening us!

Have you seen an ad for l'entrecote, la posta, mi chaud... on TV before?

7ayalla 7kina...

try linking the war waged on OTV to the DT camp, maybe you should throw in HA's arms to the mix as well, and you will have one hell of a cocktail here...

This problem is related to the monopoly created by A.Choueiry and satchi .

FATTAL,OBEGI,FDC,VINCENTI,NEPCO(abou adal group),TRANSMED ,those are the major distributors in Lebanon and I assure u that at least 3 of them are PRO opposition .So IF J/WALKER wants to boycott OTV for political reasons,Dewars(Fattal) would use this fact and put ads on OTV .But unfortunately advertising in Lebanon doesn't work like this .

Can't we just address multinational brands and Companies, from outside lebanon via European, american and worldwide known advert agencies?

if We are going Sat worldwide why don't we get the high end like for example:

Electronic sectors, Automotive sectors, IT sectors...Like CNN does

What about exclusive coverage of Sports events .. Football ( champions league .. etc ) and F1 or stuff interesting like these .. ? this makes OTV more desirable... and people might move to OTv in different ages and different tastes..
