And others and others. But when we boycott, we need to stick to one decision and go with it.
This is another example!

Well since Pepsi co. advertises solely on LBC, why don`t we turn to Coca Cola and RC then and advertise their products on OTV?!

I think a joint press conference between Otv and Ntv is need, so that they reveal to the public this bitter fact and announce the names of those monopolizing the marketing industry.

Unfortunately MTC are their clients. OTV people met with MTC and MTC are ready to advertize on OTV, but they have to pass thru Saatchi since they are their media booker. Saatchi are unreachable since they love life their way, not via OTVs way.

And the list goes one, for example Johny Walker! This guy is a monopolized by Choueiry group. He refuses to even talk to OTV people on the phone !
I understand, but what i am saying is, if we boycott "MTC" for example, "MTC" will either force Saatchi & Saatchi to advertise on OTV or they will break up with Saatchi & Saatchi.

Once the owners of "Red Cheese" realize that their product is being boycotted because they boycotted OTV for political reasons, they will come and advertise on OTV.

What we need is the names of those products who are boycotting OTV.
It's not the products who mainly boycott the TV station but the advertizing companies. Here is the real problem in fact.

An advertizing company by its methods and pricing, imposes a plan on the product seller, who generally doesn't go into such details anyway. He is only interested by the best way to market his brand,at the best price possible. For example, when you offer him with each low price advertizement on LBC,a free extra bonus in a second page of 2 major magazines. He will certainly go with LBC and not OTV.

And many other tricks like that.

The best thing to do IMHO, is to uncover the advetizing companies that are boycotting OTV station, and then to head directly to the HQ of big product or service companies, and lobby in a productive and convincing way for the OTV station,so that next time, when they will sign contracts with the advertizing companies, they impose on them advertizing on the OTV station.

You could then,at least rally those who were not aware of the boycott at the first place, and are ready to make some financial sacrifices to help.

As for the others, you would only bring them to you, when they will feel that there is a big loss in not doing it.

And this could only happen when OTV gets the best regional and high audience TV programs.

Pepsi are not a problem.

Soon a list will be released. For now Saatchi & Saacthi + Johny Walker (and all vincenti products) are boycotting the station.

We should do something to help OTV in this regard

Clients in general (except few idiots) do not care about politics and affiliations, they care about $$$$ and their sales numbers at the end of the fiscal year.
Most of the big advertisers like Pepsi, Coke, adidas, Toyota.... go by ratings as Mich said. They do not care if they advertising on OTV or the aliens stations as long as they are getting return on their investment.
This said, the only statistics available in Lebanon are the Stat-Ipsos ones. Stat-Ipsos for the ones who do not know it is part of the Choueiry Group. Choueiry Group has had a monopole on the media industry for decades now, not only in Lebanon but in many Arab countries.
The problem is that most of the statistics done by Stat-Ipsos are biased and wrong. Although many advertisers (i.e. clients) know about that, they do not have anything else to base themselves on, and thus go by them.

MTV had struggled hugely in that matter and never picked up until Choueiry took over its media. So it means, either you are with Choueiry or you are dead.

The solution I think is neither boycotting the brands (because most of the times it is not actually political) nor putting pressure on advertising agencies (who are the liason between the brands and the TV station).
The solution is to create a reliable statistic company that refutes all the lies that Stat-Ipsos has been feeding investors for years. Now this is not a short term project nor an easy one. It needs capital, it needs notorious figures but it should be done, not for tomorrow and next week, but for the decades to come.

Who's gonna volunteer in opening a Facebook group about "boycotting Johny Walker"?

But how can OTV prooves that the advertising companies are boycotting OTV for political reasons?? it is something irrelevant and can't be easily proven. The advertising company can claim that it is boycotting OTV for technical/financial/marketing reasons...

Exactly my point, we should brainstorm a plan and put pressure on the ones who are boycotting OTV
