(Regardless whether it is true or not , such expressions shouldn't be used in what is supposed to be an objective news bulletin. Do you accept that LBC label in the news intro FPM as "masi7iyyou souria wa iran" for example?)
It is so explicit and blunt as if they want to impose a point view of on the audience. It is very annoying honestly and it doesn't give a good impression.
I am not against OTV having a political line but everything has limits! GMA keep criticizing reporters and journalists who give their opinions when they should be objective but OTV isn't being any better.
Who writes the intro? Jean Aziz? If yes, someone should remind that he shouldn't write his personal opinion as he does for example in Al-akhbar.
I hope someona can pass them the message!
I don't frequently listen to radio but I have the impression that Satwelghad news bulletin is much better than OTV. |
Bias is reflected not with the content of the reporting, i.e. what Fakhreddine refers to as the "truth", but rather the WAY it is reported. I do not have to remind you of the different lies which were uncovered, some instantly some later, that were manufactured and propagated by the loyalist media.
I have to agree. The news is indeed biased, as are all other news broadcasts.
As a hardcore FPMer, I do thrive for the idea of an objective news channel, but unfortunately the battlefield of politics is one with no mercy and in which different tools are used, such as the media.
OTV's bias is a reaction to those of LBC and Future, although thankfully not extending to the limits the latter have reached in spreading hatred and lies. The Lebanese people are easily influenced, towards all sorts of ideas.
I believe this bias is necessary in order to reach the masses. MOST (So please do not say I generalize) Lebanese follow emotions rather than clear, coherent logical reasoning, or else we would not be living in the current situation.
Thus, if we are to win this political battle, propaganda is necessary. As long as it remains within the limits of the TRUTH, I consider it an acceptable and legal form of political practice.
