In lebanon the rating is measured more accurately than that, instead of calling people and depending on their 'memory' and ask them what they watched the day before.
There is one 'official' company whose ratings are considered the 'industry' norms places what is called
'people meter'. It is a small box (like a modem) that is connected to your tv that tracks and memorizes the channels watched every night.
Every night at 3.00 am the home phone rings, the modem is connected to the server and the data is extracted.
voila!
The people meter is placed in 3000+ households where you could know what demographics are watching what: age, gender, religion, income...
The people meter is the most accurate measurement used in europe, USA, lebanon and other places. In most arab countries the people meter is not in use yet. I heard that the people meter is being installed now in KSA; until today the tv ratings in KSA is still done via the 'telephone (one day later) recall'
If you have a friend who works for company X who has the people meter in lebanon, you'll know what is the OTV rating vs other channels.
I would believe that OTV management is subscribed to this people meter service or else they're doing little to track their progress.
