Default نكاية بالحرب - 10th April 2008

Amazing program, very creatively done.
Young people talking about the war, and the after war.

A Shiite boy saying "I feel weird entering manatekoun" in reference to christians.

An LFer speakign of his brother who was killed by the army and says " ken bfaddil yenkatal men chi metweleh mech massihi".

I hope some of you watched, it is amazing, and sad.

If not check for the re-run.

Excuse me for not seeing anything great but the stupidity of our ppl. The level of ignorance among those interviewed is shocking, specially that we now r in the 21th century and 18 years after the civil war came to an end.
If it shows anything, it will be our same miserable conditions where the stigmas, stereotypes, dogma and mentalities r still the same. Still living in separate ghettos, still the fear from "the other" is alive and kicking, still the mistrust- the lack of any trust, the we r right-they r wrong attitude, the us and them. This is deeply entrenched in the subconsciousness of our ppl and barely covered under a very thin and delicate layer of false make-up, once u scratch it a little it will surface bluntly and hit u in the face.

Watching this documentary made me realize even more how the MoU and how such initiatives r needed in this sick country and ill society. You can`t but think how critical and bad our situation is. You can`t but also figure out why the MoU was fought and attacked ferociously and restlessly.

It is tragic how shallow we are and how easily we can fall into the same traps over and over again.

While watching the documentary, I was literally shocked that anjad there are people who are that fanatic and who would speak in such an extremist way even after the war and after the 200,000 young people who died.

I came to the conclusion that el tekrar mish daroure y3allim el 7mar! We have went through this many times and there are still idiots who wouldn't mind taking us to war again.

Exactly, I think if that Chiite guy was asked today, he wouldn't say what he said about finding it weird to come to "their" areas (the christian's) and that's why such MOUs between all factions are needed.
