Introducing the LFA

Legal status:
The LFA was established by “Official Notification” (decision) Number 126/ dated April 13.2006 issued by the Minister of Interior and Municipalities.

The Founding Committee:
President, Mr. Charles Arbid, General Manager and Owner of “Rectangle Jaune”.
Vice President, Mr.Mohamad Choucair, CEO of “Patchi”.
Secretary, Mr.Mohamad Al Rifai, CEO of “Rifai Roastery”.
Treasurer, Mr.Georges Najjar, CEO of “Café Najjar”.
Board Member, Mr Robert Fadel, General Manager of “ABC”.
Board Member Governement Relations, Mr. Nabil Ladki.

Objectives of LFA:
The primary objective or LFA is to coordinate the activities of its members in a concerted effort to promote and exemplify excellence in franchising.

Franchising & Advantages to Franchisee:

**Franchising is a system of marketing goods and/or services and/or technology, which is based upon a close and ongoing collaboration between legally, and financially separate and independent undertakings, the franchisor and its individual franchisees whereby the franchisor grants its franchisees the right, and imposes the obligation to conduct a business in accordance with the franchisor’s concept.

Franchising operates on the basis of a contractual agreement between two independent business partners, the Franchisor and the Franchisee, for the term of the contract, the right to buy and operate the franchisor’s branded and formatted business system for a fee and according to the prescribed rules and procedures developed for the system by the franchisor.

**A franchisee’s principal motive for joining a franchised network is to be in business “for himself” but not “by himself”. The franchisee’s benefits over an isolated independent non-franchised entrepreneur are the following:

-To operate through a well established Brand Name.
-To facilitate the success to a market via the right to utilize the parent company’s brand name.
-To benefit from both the transfer of know-how and marketing and on On-Going assistance.
