Anyways, for the US, there are tens of schools: MIT, stanford, UCLA, UC- berkley, U of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Michigan-Ann Arbor , Purdue University , Georgia Institute of Technology, .... and many many more. for Canada: U of Toronto, Waterloo, U of Alberta,McGill, U of British Columbia (2nd in canada and 34-35 in the world I know this because that's where I study). Also there are some really good universities in europe but I don't really know which are the best.
One really important thing, the most important step in applying to a grad school is to talk to a professor because even if your average is 100% and you have all the best skills in the world and you didn't find a professor to work with, you'll not be accepted. | I thougt AUB is the best college in the middle east! | | | | | Orange Room Supporter

check out this link : World Universities' ranking on the Web: Top Arab World (even though I don't agree with the criteria they follow to rank universities, but it should give you a rough idea) | | | | | Registered Member

Turkish Universities, are they english based? And according to your website, there are two Saudi Universities that are better than the iranian, but i've never thought they were better than AUB, which is also better than the iranian.
Anyway, I heard that king Abdulla has spent 10 billion dollars on a university that's expected to be the 6th in the world. | | | | | Orange Room Supporter

im planning to Do Mechanical Engenerring and study in either Poland or Germany or Austria, but most importanly is if i go to Work in the Arabian Gulf, i would work there as a European, not a Lebanese, caz i heard that you can make wayy more money if u go there as a european, like for example, if you work in Qatar and go there as a Lebanese, you would likly get $2500-$3000/month at the beggining, but if you go there with a B.S as a European, there's a good chance you will get $6000/month minium at start. as Discreaminatory as it sounds, that''s the world for ya...
but if say i got a Master's degree and went there as a European, i think it's like $10,000/month the beggining
correct or explain me if im wrong | | | | | Registered Member

If you are not interested in research after your Masters then it is a waste of time to do a Masters, you'd be better off working making money and gaining experience, and this especially in engineering. | | | | | Registered Member

Shevchenco, i want to pursue another degree aside from computer science. My choice resides on Game Programming. Can you specify any good universities in Canada that excel in that field?
Thanks. | | | | | Orange Room Supporter

Thanks. | where I live, vancouver, is considered to be the capital of video games and graphic design in the world. In industry dinners, I have chatted with all sorts of gaming companies representatives from EA Games ( btw, vancouver's branch designs FIFA and NHL) and microsoft's gaming departement to small and young gaming companies. When they are interviewing someone, they are looking for problem-solving techniques, critical thinking,... not just designing softwares and programs. One time, I met one of a the designers; he had a math degree and his brother, also a designer, graduated with a physics degree.
So the moral of the story is: you don't have to have a specific degree to become a game designer but rather you should have the skills (and obviously at least some basic C++ knowledge). | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to shevchenco For This Useful Post: | | | | |
