currently im applying to universities in lebanon... but i need advice..
i reeeealy wanna study pharmacy at uni... so i applied to LAU... but the university advisor in my school is telling me its not that good (dunno if thats true), so i applied to AUB (problem is that they dont have pharmacy) for chemistry (1st choice) and nutrition & diet (2nd choice). I quite like these but i prefer pharmacy. Dr salim kannan (head of admissions at AUB) came to our school a few days ago.. and he seems interested... now im lost... dunno what to do next... go for AUB or LAU??
Go with AUB for a million reasons. Cheaper, better, better, CHEAPER.

Should he/she go to AUB because it's better and cheaper even if there is not the major he/she wants?

Icon7 How about dropping majors? - 20th October 2006

It seems to me that dear ole Lebanon is going to be oversaturated with teknologicaly advanced minds with PHDs, Masters and the sort.

How about educating carpenters, taxi-drivers, electricians, masons, plumbers, bus drivers, truck drivers etc. And I am not just talking about a craft that one inherits from his Dad or uncle, or probably buy with a "Rashwa".

I am talking about a well formed, planned and regulated education that will in the long run improve the infrastructure and in a way get it to become more organized and provide a better and qualified services.

Well I just thought I would interject this thought before I get back to work.

Until the next log in,

3ishtum wa 3asha Lubnan.

proudly lebanese, LAU is very good at pharmacy.

If im not mistaken its one of few non-american universities whose pharmacy degree is recognised in the states.

Go for it without hesitation if thats what you like.

As for AUB, my chemistry courses and the whole department there is just depressing. Besides, pharmacy as job outlet strikes me as much better than chemistry and nutrition.

Go for pharmacy at LAU.

As for our topic, well, there are some profile tests that you can take online that'll help direct you to your suitable major... my mom made me take one right after highschool, and I was impressed by how accurate the results were. The majors that suited me the most were: English Language, advertising design, and psychology. I love all three a lot, and I would have excelled in any! I'll post you a link to one of these as soon as I obtain a moderator's approval.
heyya :) i know its been a while tht u have posted this out but could u help me out in pointing me to tht test's url or whtever !
if u cant post it out here ill appreciate it if u could send it to me by pm:)
thanks in advance..
