I'm going to be applying to college in a couple of months and I'm having trouble choosing a major. I'm leaning towards law or political science, but I'm not so sure that those are going to work out. I'm also going to be studying arabic and english and maybe teach one of them. As for my college selections, I'm going to apply to AUB and the rest American schools. If anybody has some advice for me, I'll appreciate it greatly.

Standfordee i am doing a degree in biomedical engeneering in France...I think i will do my master in the US...Can i have some advices about the best universities in the US in this domain?

For Lebanese schools students, Biomedical Engeneering is now available as a major degree in the islamic university (jeim3a l 2isleimyei) and Balamand and as a minor degree in AUB...The Lebanese universities are still {weak} in this domain so if you want a solid background you have to travel to Europe(germany, France, Britain...) or to the US..
Biomedical engineering is also available in usj .
It's not that Lebanese universities are weak in this domain ,the option is still not available .
In my opinion it's better to pursue a more general degree in electrical or mechanical engineering then to do masters related to the biomedical engineering field .Hence wider chances of work would be available specially if one is intending to work in Lebanon .

Now what about the biomedical engineering field in Lebanon ? is it progressing ? are there chances of work ?
one more question :is it better to have a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering in order to enter the BME field ?

Rima, AUB is now doing some research in biomed. I know they recuited a new Lebanese professor from MIT 2 years ago whose work is mainly in biomed. This guy in in EE department. There is also a good lady in Mechanical who works in biomed. I can PM you their names if you want.
As for chosing ME or EE as a major, I would say if you are fit for it go for electrical and take your electives in biomed. I think an EE degree is more valuable in Lebanon and would increase you chances of work even outside the biomed field.

ZRSGMS.
Good luck, I had couple of freinds at University who did Political Science at AUB and Law at LU. It was not easy but managed to have both degrees and apply to Diplomatic Corps and/or Justice Institiute (Ma'ahad Kada'a).

If you could manage, this is the best option - Good luck

i did 3 years (licence) biology in france and i just started my 4th (1st year of masters)in "infectiologie, vaccinologie"(infectious diseases and vaccines). i'd like to continue my PhD in the US but it's way too expensive, so if anyone knows if international students have the right to "bourses" or if there are any programs where we can work and study in the same time i'd really appreciate it if you fill me in!

Jorje,if you need any help just PM me cause i'm in the same major as yours and faced the same problem!
