I am planning on continuing masters in the Biomechanical Engineering field, just as I get my Mech BE within one year, and do a couple of years of experience.

Wohooo, anyone needs artificial organs?

On the other hand, for the people in here planning to enter Mechanical Engineering at AUB, talk to me. I can give you full details on how to pass every course you need to take...and often without studying.

It's all about ATTITUDE...right Bassam?

CPL, i guess the FPM/AUB/Engineering connexion never dies. I bet u have tons of previouses hidden somewhere
Regarding biomedical engineering, i might be doing my research in between the department of Chemistry at Cleveland State University, and the department of Biomedical Engineering at the Lerner Research Institute of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. (joint research)
anyways, if someone needs any info, this is the link to the dept of biomedical engineering at the Cleveland Clinic: http://www.lri.ccf.org/bme/ (i hope it is fine with the moderators)
The Cleveland Clinic is one of the top 5 hospitals in the US. It is in Cleveland Ohio.

any further info PM me

Standfordee i am doing a degree in biomedical engeneering in France...I think i will do my master in the US...Can i have some advices about the best universities in the US in this domain?

For Lebanese schools students, Biomedical Engeneering is now available as a major degree in the islamic university (jeim3a l 2isleimyei) and Balamand and as a minor degree in AUB...The Lebanese universities are still {weak} in this domain so if you want a solid background you have to travel to Europe(germany, France, Britain...) or to the US..

Hey someone, sorry I just noticed your reply.
Biomedical is reallly a hot area now. The companies are blooming and all the research grants are going to this area.
The best university in Biomedical is John Hopkins.
I suggest you also consider Boston University, its among the best in this field and to some extent more affordable than the others+Boston is a great city. ( I know Hariri used to offer scholarships there)
UCLA is also good they started a new interdisciplinary program this year and it looks promising.
Stanford also built this year a 200 million dollar center (Bio X) dedicated to biomedical engineering. The building is breathtaking. Too bad its late for me to switch to this area.

CPL and Someone, in case you want to pursue an MS in this area. Take as many electronics and DSP courses as you can. they will be useful.

Note to all members:

The topic is strictly about "What major to choose". It's neither about FPM in AUB nor about how to succeed in courses without studying. I hope everybody sticks to the essence of the thread.

If there are any other information that are not directly related to the thread, you can share them by private messaging.

Thanks.

Hey guys!
Since this is my first post in this forum, i really wanna say that this topic is usefull in many ways!
Well as for me, i'm during my 4th and final year Computer Science at Beirut Arab University. So any help concerning computer science or admitting to B.A.U. i'll be more than glad to help!

Since i'm preparing for the masters degree, i'm a bit confused between the available domains (which ain't found here at any lebanese uni. !!!) which are:
1. Advanced Man-Machine Interfaces
2. Algorithmics
3. Artificial Intelligence
4. Bioinformatics
5. Communication Networks
6. Robotics
7. Software Systems

So anyone who has experience or knowledge in what is the most required major nowadays i'll be ready for it!

Thnx

Thank you Stanfordee you gave me very important information...
I think i will collect enough money after my engeneering degree then go to the US for an MS...The problem with US universities is that they are so expensive and a scholarship is not that Easy to get...

FP(M)ario I hope you are reading this thread because Stanfordee also answered the question you asked me in private...
