Dude I grew up here and I called this place home. When I went to Lebanon for the first time I knew what is home.

Here's the thing, I think a background in Economics is a very important component if you want to be a businessman somewhere down the road, but from what I learned talking to advisors and consultants, Majoring in Economics isn't the greatest of ideas, there are not many career opportunities in the field, and most times, you're better off in Business Administration. Employers tend to appreciate it more than economics, which is seen as a mere collection of theories.

My advice to you, if you've got to make a choice among the two, go with business, but if possible, do maintain a solid base in economics.
well ya metallica, i'm actually studying economics in USJ i've just finished my 1st year!!

what do u advice me to study after my "license"! i mean master!! my dream is to doa master in "politique economique" (policy-economic) but in Lebanon ma fi cheghel!!

wowwwwwww i think this thread is useful for many.. thank mods for this great idea..
Standfordee i am doing a degree in biomedical engeneering in France...I think i will do my master in the US...Can i have some advices about the best universities in the US in this domain?

For Lebanese schools students, Biomedical Engeneering is now available as a major degree in the islamic university (jeim3a l 2isleimyei) and Balamand and as a minor degree in AUB...The Lebanese universities are still {weak} in this domain so if you want a solid background you have to travel to Europe(germany, France, Britain...) or to the US..

Chabeb i really need your help around here,I did four years in the telecommunication fields,i have finished and till now i am not finding a good work in networking or telecommunications (management of networking systems for instance).All i can find is work in stuff such as windows and things like this.I really like to work as a consultant,what do u advise me to do.(u advise me to go to france and do masters in Business??how much will it cost,can any one help or give an advise)
In another point i really like to teach,do u think i can go to Ipnet,can i study one more year so that i will be able to join the Ipnet...do an equivalance.
Thank you for your help,
as for me and how i canhelp the youth.
I can say to them,choose what you love,what you like,try to take your own decisions,if you wanna to invest 50 000$ and study here,i advise you go and study outside lebanon,it will cost you the same thing,plus you will have some chance to work outside,i know it is not a patriotic way to say this,but let us face this fact,many fields such as IT for instance or telecommunications are not so sofisticated here,you will have to wait for many years before getting a good job.

is the lebanese uni open in august case i have to go ask questions;
do they give courses at night (or the afternoon) in the majors i already named;
is there a branch for marketing/finance/banking in fanar
is there a dead line for registration!
if any1 has answers to these questions, u'll save me lots of time!
