Default what bank is the most profitable? - 18th June 2007

Banking is one of the very very few prosperous sectors in Lebanon. The various operating banks offer different saving and investing plans and solutions. what bank offers the best interest rate with the less amount of fees for: - long term deposit - Private banking solutions. in brief: which banks guarantees the biggest income? (rather a vague question... all answers are welcome).

Usually the biggest and most renowned banks offer the lowest interests as far as i know. Up and coming lesser known banks offer higher ones 2 attract customers.

I dunno which one specifically offers the most now, that can fluctuate depending on who you know there and what package they offer you and what sum youre depositing.

Bank el madina back in the day paid off very large interests, 2 or 3% higher than rest, but you know what happened.

I go for BLOM.

Their interests' rates are the lowest but your money is in the safest place.

I referred to some ppl involved with bank transactions on daily basis:

Interest rates of different banks are very close to each other. They vary of 0.10 or 0.20 unit btw banks.
Byblos gives best rates for deposits in USD
Lebanese Canadian bank gives best rates for deposits in LBP.

I am not talking about special account or special conditions... just normal deposits.

With a little of 'wasta', the leb. canadian even us an interest rate on USD greater than the highest on the market.

What i mean with "profitable" bank is the one that offers the highest interest rate with the lowest fees and easiest constraints.

I tried to visit their website to get the matrix table for their interest rates, but this info was not listed anywhere.

I called their support center: they told me that interest rates are negotiated with the delegated customer account responsible.

They definitely have their fixed rates, but it seems they'd like to keep it confidential.
