How much are taxes on cars when you want to import them to lebanon?

I know it increases with price and model year, but anyone have some kind of table or rundown of them?

I know that a 2003 model car (Lexus rx )you pay: $10,000 tax , 2004 model you pay $12,000 tax , in addition you have to add around $1,500 transport charge if you are importing from the USA , in addition you have the fee of the clearing agent in Beirut .

Unless you pull an "Artin Auto" in Mkales where he buys cars from Auction in the U.S. with over 150,000 miles on them for $2000, and sells them in Beirut for $20,000 with 50,000 miles on them.

Somehow during transport, the cars value went up and the miles went down. Must be the salty air on the ocean

I bet 99.99% of cars are rebuilt cars which were originally bought for less than $1500 from a car insurance auction. so unless you are sending your own car, pay extra attention.

You're right. The list is totally incomplete and non understandable.I think that they have a kind of fixed pre-determined rate about the prices of used cars. Then, they apply the percentage in the chart to it...+VAT.

Anyway,

I know that each year, the state issues a new chart (full book) with all the customs final prices in it.And it is widely distributed among customs agents and shipping companies.

If you know a custom agent (3amil...Joumroukeh),he will give you the exact amount for each car you want.

Unless you make him send (or sell) you one of those copies.

It is called transparency! that's why some people still want to elect the 14 az3ar, because of this transparency they have, everybody is treated the same, and by everybody i mean 3immel el gomrok that those 14 az3ar give them jobs so that they can make extra money due to this transparency.
