This is for AUB. And specifically the Faculty of Arts and Sciences based on how it was 3 years ago
(Other faculties are similar, but might have some differences I am not aware of)
- The acceptance is a rolling acceptance, so each year the cutoff score is different. Depending on the group of students applying and how good they are. And they keep on accepting until they fill all available slots per major.
- This score that they evaluate you on is based on 2 things, school grades of grades 10 & 11 and SAT, I think the weight was 50-50, so SAT's can make or break, but if the school grades are too low than you're flagged and not accepted even if your SAT make up for it (Same if the case is reversed, high school grades but too low an SAT score). As for evaluating your school grades they are compared to the archive of grades that AUB has for applicants from your specific school, (so as to compensate for schools that give high grades vs. ones that don't), and therefore a relative score is calculated.
- Historically (in Arts & Sciences), Biology and Computer Sciences are the most competitive and usually end up with the highest cutoff scores, and in third (if memory serves me well) is economics.
As previously mentioned, your English score (both) are very good. Your math could be much better, its very easy to get over 600, and with a little work you can get to 700. Practice is important, so that you get used to solving them quickly. When you did your SAT did you have time to complete all sections in math?
