| Economical situation in Lebanon during the Opposition's sit-in -
29th December 2006
Dear fellows,
Many complaints had been raised by politicians as well as by some economists and business representatives during the sit-ins of the Opposition parties in Beirut Central District facing the government's headquarters.
In order to undermine the opposition's action, that apparently destabilized the government, this argument was used to influence the public and push it away from supporting the sit-in against Sanyoura's unconstitutional cabinet.
Even more, finance minister as well as some responsibles talked about millions of dollars of losses... However, most newspapers and studies have shown that economy's activity wasn't affected by the opposition's sit-in or by the political atmosphere it created... Tourists still came normally through Beirut International Airport and economical activity scored an unexpected growth of many points comparing to last year.
We hope that members who have some professional insight on that issue to enlighten us about it more in detail... So thanks in advance for whoever volunteers to explain...
Regards... |
