Hey,
The courses are of varieties, required projects are almost in every business course, they trully serv us as introductory to the real world.
Well, let me see,, Our Computer lab is Awesome!
Seriously, the professors are enthusiastic - At least the ones I had.
Most of them actually Teach at LAU, all of them practically consider that
its a whole new serious environment..Competitive one.

We have one Finance Course - 2 accounting courses - One Marketing course-
one management- Macro, Micro Economics - Math and English,
cs, and The others are related to the "speciality"
Arabic, Electives..

General, Broad knowledge. I don't know why, but i'd think that French System, or Usj for example, are more into details than us.

Hm, What else?

Workshops are Cool enough.

I'll add when it gets to me..

:)

Yeah Workshops are

You forgot to add:

The IT course (Viva Toni Feghali)
The Visual Basic course
CS courses were a waste of time and money for me...
I would have invested this money in more Finance courses!
4 courses as emphasis aren't enough ya jame3a!!!

Neither Nietzsche nor Simone de Beauvoir will help me to distinguish a balance sheet from a handbill!

I heard from some friends that new emphasis were added, mazbout ya Chicham?

IT COURSE!!
im so stupid! Im taking it now!!

and With Dr TONY kamen!
But Like I had to pay a lot of money, did he have this "system"
when you were his student?

VB? u mean cmps209?

Finance? **** it, I Hate that.
alone with Accounting..
Im a Marketing-type-of-person!
I Love the projects I had to do.

I Fully Agree, 4 courses are nothing! :(

about Concentration, Bid and Entreupreneurship was at ur time, right?
Sinon, I dont know!

they didnt distribute the Catalogues, or Last time I checked it wasnt printed.
and I've never seen my "advisor".
Thats another big issue at AUB!
Advisors "3al fadeh", they always ask us to read the catalogue or give us wrong info.

What system?

Please refrain from saying that! and your feedback is appreciated after you take the Fin210!
It looks like you took a wrong idea about Finance…
It is not like accounting… I took 5 Finance courses at AUB: 2 out of 5 were based on calculations!
You should take Risk Analysis course with Dr.Fawzi Malouf, he is an old guy and very experienced. He is very strict and everything but you will love the material he is giving! Maybe that the only class of my senior year that I still recall every detail of it.

Sinon, I dont know!
No not Bid, I heard that they introduced more parts in the Entrepreneurship category.

My advisor was Mrs.Mardini , she was pregnant and absent all the time so Mrs Hayat used to pass me that code.

For AUB students in general:
If you are lost what elective course to take, I advice you to take the PLSC290 [not sure of the course number] it is the Honey Making course. It is one of the courses at AUB that takes you out of the ordinary classes and routine. They teach you how to inspect the bees at AUB. You go once a week to check on the bees and the honey with 2 trips on Sundays for more aggressive bees. It is a very nice course and the teacher is generous ;)

Honey Making!
I remember making so much fun at my friend when he took that..
that he dropped it!
but like, it must be fun!

about Fin210, well Im taking it,
I know its not like Accounting, a bit more interesting, but like,
I'd like more flexibility => Marketing.

MRS MARDINI! **** it,
She made me Loose so much credits 3al fadeh,
I took Accounting 210 with her,
than she left / pregnant, in the middle of the semester,
she left us with another prof, I couldnt adapt -> Bad Grade.
When she came back, I took it again with her -> Bad GRade!

thanx for The Advice..

About the "system"
Its unique.
It's like, you get "full attendance",
but every time you're late, you pay a "Fee" of "5000LL"
if ure absent, its 1000LL.
That it to remind us how precious every session is,
and cause like it costs around 50 000LL.

so we put it in a jar, and at the end of the semester we do whatever we'd like to do with it..

First Week : Im on credit : 11 000LL.

:(

BA - AUB - 2001. I never got an internship. I didn't want to join the army so I left Lebanon. When I look back at it, it was all theory... which is NOT what business schools should be.

The teachers at AUB made me hate finance.... something that turned out to be the only interesting business subject for me later on.

They overhauled/changed the system after I left. They added the 2 year experience the year my class graduated. I think AUB's business school improved after I graduated.

I joined an MBA program right after I graduated (biggest mistake of my life). It turned, you actually NEED some experience to join ANY MBA program. For that, I paid dearly, as I couldn't find jobs in the USA, until I got lucky and got me a temporary position at Johnson & Johnson.... afterwards, that position led me into the industry I wanted to join.... investment banking. I work for UBS investment bank headquarters in the USA. I will be going for my CFA level I in June 2007.... If I looked back and tried to plan my life this way, it wouldn't have worked.

People in the US interested in joining this industry, PM me...

My story!

They would help you gain an intellectual advantage though, don't you think?

Variety is good

Interesting Abufijli, did you do a regular BBA with emphasis in e-business or is it actually an e-business degree? Can you tell us more about it...
