Why do Lebanese people curse God?

And I'm mainly addressing the Muslims here, BTW take notice It may be a coincidence But i've yet to see a Sunni Thug Cursing Omar or Abu Bakr They only curse Allah and I've yet to see a Shiite Curse Ali or Hussein they only Curse Allah (And Omar :)

Cursing God is a Lebanese trademark. Disgusting as any type of cursing is, it's still considered 'cool' by many.

Simple, Allah is general, with the others it gets too personal If you curse Allah, you're cursing what's yours and mine, so I'm not that affected... But if you curse others, you hit me 'alone' directly in the heart and head :D

Shiaa curse 'Omar' and Sunnis 'only' curse God?

The greater problem is if you're faced with a Christian, if he curses Allah, that's shared so no problem... But if he curses Mohamad, you're stuck coz you can't curse Jesus...

On a serious note, it'd be a blessing if one can always think and be governed by logic without reacting... Why care if people curse... They can keep shouting till they lose their voices and jumping till they get tired ... And besides, nothing can frustrate a curser more than seeing the cursed calm and smiling with joy instead of cursing back ...

Lebanese curse Gods? lol you have to what the quebecers curse. They don't have a curse that is not related to religion

Although I'm an Atheist, I very rarely say curses related to religion (And I do curse a lot), but religious curses are my dad's favorites, so over the years I've heard quite a few interesting ones :P especially the Zghertawi-style ones :P

because you can curse God and get away with it, knowing what a compassionate entity that he is.

but if you curse nasrallah, geagea, berri, hariri or any other zuama in Lebanon you will not get away with it.

so we stick to cursing Allaha.
