Icon5 What Defines Mean People Thread - 4 Weeks Ago

Throughout life, normal ppl can be mean sometimes, but set aside from normal ppl is the select group of hopelessly mean ppl that take this trait to the next chronic 24/7 level

But what is exactly a mean person?

it's hard to point down, so perhaps this thread can help clarify the general resentment level especially since forums bring out the worse in ppl and allows us more samples to study ;)

the list of traits would include

-snooty/snobbish prince/princess mean
-know-it-all stubborn talking wall mean
-judgemental/preaching mean
-insensitive uncreative and unfunny mean
-make others feel bad/laugh at them mean
-cruel hearltess cold mean
-jealous and insincere mean

but more important details and traits are sure to abound and sharing the insight into them and the behavior of ppl with a internal-score-to-settling-externally deserve our compassion and understanding as strange mean test subjects in the name of science ;)

so what makes chronic mean ppl tick.. ?

what drives them to live life in the "mean lane".. hehe

Mean means "a mirror to your face, a shoe to your behind" :P (literal translation :D) Two faced people and those who hold grudges over trivial things are devils.

Being straightforward and honest means that you got nothing to hide. The traits you described up there do not all mean 'mean'.

well i opened this thread to probe deeper into all aspects and interpretations of mean, so we are here to figure it out more

and although honesty is commendable in general, an honest person that honestly treats others like trash isn't exactly a lot better than a dishonest person who trashes others like trash also ;)

so although the honest one is actualy 'better', they are still both quite mean :)

I personally feel comfortable around honest people... I don't feel cozy around snakes who sting you 'in the behind'

i appreciate honest ppl

but in general ppl with mean tendencies and i dont see eye to eye

i might be a teaser and a kidder, but i seldom am mean to someone out of chronic spite

i just dont have that brand of poison in my veins so u can understand how i dont like mean ppl whom i consider a bit nuts to be around me

it's sad really, when someone takes pride and joy in being mean..

it's like celebrating the death of ur soul ;)

There's no joy in being mean Red. Mean people are miserable unhappy people with issues. Most important is that people don't hold grudges.

P.S. Is this "" mean? :D I love this emoticon, it expresses a lot :D

Well maybe they have a lack of affection ..and they need to have some attention and love and they don't know how to express themselves in another way

I can be mean sometimes when i am angry of something or mad at someone ... but not to the level of hurting anyone. ... I always try to control myself.

PS: i only used one emoticon
