Thanks for this DEATH WARNING MeG.. Was only waiting for someone to open such a thread on such a crucial issue .. Therefore it is also a promise of LIFE :)

The major problem with smoking, at least as i see it from my (sooooon non-smoking perspective ) is the pshychological relationship a smoker is bound to with the smoked stuff.. I mean only cigarettes here.

Here in Sweden, i have been introduced to some new stuff, cigarettes made on non-nicotin base ( from Bodhi sans land i think, Indea) purely rolled out of some good tasting leaves of some kind, relatively expensive, taste good, but me being very paranoic towards all too seemingly good things, suspected they had more deadly but unknown poisons and went back to my usual known deadly ones..

Nearly everywhere now in the world, they warn you from severe and agonising death put as TEXT on any tobaccish product.. But as we all know: one picture talks more than thousand words. Thus, below is my suggestion to put on every packet of slow suicide which we also pay for:

Smokers lungs

Well Meg Ive been smoking for a long time and I smoke around a pkt a day ..
I quit for 2 years and went back on it ..Actually my doctor encouraged me to quit telling me the side effects serious illnesses that smoking gives .. as u mentioned...
Well to tell you the truth it wasnt easy quitting I nearly had a nervous breakdown ..Snaping at everyone always in a bad mood kept on eating non stop .. It was hell for me the first few weeks and then I started adjusting .. I put on weight in thes two years that I quit ..even though I was going to the gym .. Then my sister died in a car accident and it was a terrible shock to me.. I started smoking again .. Dont ask me why I think it gave me comfort more than anything ..
As for the patches my cousin was a heavy smoker and he tried them for a couple of weeks and is back to smoking again.. and as for the chewing gum a lady I know was chewing this nicotine gum and smoking a the same time

Acupunture may be more effective than the patch and gum!!!!

Congrats ya amel!

Well surely it takes a big amount of will, I am amazed by my dad for example how he managed to quit it after 22 years of smoking.
So its never impossible!

MeG we're going to die anyways if we smoke or not ..so my point is if you really want to quit and put in mind that you really mean it I think you can do it without any therapies ... Coz therapies are just a waste of time ...And may give you side effects after you stop them as well... Never know you may get addicted to the therapies too!!! looooooooool !!!
Just throw the box of cigs in the bin and quit If your really willing to !!!
