Religions and Politics - 25th April 2006

I wanted to open this subject,, because Lebanon is affected by these two issues....

What's the difference between Religion and Politic???

What's the Common between Religion and politic???

What causes people to fight over religion and Politic??

Religions & Politics divide people up into a bunch of groups .

Religions & Politics used to control people since centuries..

People seem to fight over religion for about the same reason they fight over most things especially Politic: to try to prove who is "right" and who is "wrong." And since most people feel very strongly about religion for one reason or another there may be more and/or more intense fights over religion than over most other subjects.

What's your point of view??

It's funny that those who use religion as a tool of division are those who are farthest away from religion. Religion is blamed for division because it looks that way on the surface. Different religions, in their core, offer peaceful coexistance and harmonious living, but humans are usually too afraid to follow through and cop out by using religion as a point of difference.

I agree. But Islam doesn't. In Islam religion is a way of life, which includes everything from politics to familial relationships and heredetary rules. The challenge is to bring Muslims and Christians together under this one single difference. So how do we do it?

Well maybe I see it wrong, but in Islam as well, why cant we separate the aspects of life governed by religion (family relationships, traditions..) and politics. I dont think that secularism could be applicable to everybody, so this separation could serve as a compromise.

What about the crusades and the opening they have made in the whole region from 980 till 1280.. Fighing in the name of god...

I think that Politics and religion are historically related and this relation is becoming weaker in developped countries and stronger in the 3rd world countries...

Not necesseraly, see the neoconservatives in the USA, or the increasing islam fundamentalism in the western countries.

This is a direct effect of the increasing relation in underdevelopped countries

The popularity of neoconservativism is ever increasing, it may represent already the 60% of the population, thus representing some kind of religious fundamentalism within the society, while embracing zionism as well.

I talked about the developed democracies, and I mean especially the 2nd-3rd generations of immigrants belonging to the middle class society.

i think religions and politics are major reason for fights and killing each wants to prove himself right/// we fight over different views....history repeats itself since the past times you hear about different invasions either due to religions or power to over take a small poor country lets look at Boudism they never fight coz they dont believe in wars and killings...they dont even kill insects ...
