I do not believe in reincarnation because it strips us of identity, I believe in a purgatory. We ourselves will be reborn but in a different physical (not spiritual) form when time comes. As for heaven and hell; well, you don't go there "bodyless".
Having said that, the idea that this life is the only one renders it meaningless, tasteless and purposeless. And saying that we should not think about the possibility of another life is the same as saying that we should live for the day and not think of the future; wreckless and irresponsible. So, if you don't believe in another life, my advice is that you keep all options open so that you don't get a shocking surprise at the end lol.
Death conquers all. Had there been no death, I would've been the first to become blasphemous. And keeping this body alive throught scientific miracles some day is not an option because if we don't die from a physical problem that comes from within, death will still come to us when time comes, be it from a bulltet or simply falling off a fence. Then the horrors start lol.
I would be interested if someone who believes in reincarnation can give us some information... |
the druze believe in reincarnation not becuz they know something others don't know but becuz that concept keeps them a tight nit small society. they like to keep what's in their pants in the family.. see?
as for more thoughtful forms of reincarnation such as the one we find in buddhism well it involves an evolutionary aspect but not for the bodies as much as for the souls. so one day a soul is human, the other it's in a donkey's form, and knowing humans i'd say the soul is better off remaining where it is now hehe
and life isn’t waiting for our opinion to become meaningless or meaningful, it got its own plans which apparently don't involve us mortals surviving any 'mortal accidents' hehe
tough luck, but us wishing for a brighter future doesn't change the fact that all our futures are ultimately pitch silent on a individual level.
the cosmos needs to recycle, just who are we to deny it that right.
even if i am born with a different body then i am not reborn at all, i'm dead.
even if i am born with a different 'soul flavor' then i am still not reborn at all, i'm dead.
whether we reborn ‘here’ or in divine fantasy land matters not, when we lose everything we are not reborn at all.
no matter how optimistically anyone looks at it, death is death. and it's there for a reason so that small creatures don't get to play gods.
sadly ppl wish to believe otherwise as is their nature, but nothing indicates that belief can fashion reality.
i tend to think that everything that happens is a one-way cosmic song, much like the nature of pi in mathematics..
cosmic recycling will eventually recycle everything, but a can of pepsi recycled into a fork is no can of pepsi at all, for the pepsi can would have been long gone as the fork helped pleasure the gustatory senses of the jessica alba eating a good chunk of Italian spaghetti in a bowl..
talking about holy jessy is as much religious as i can get in this world hehe
so imagine the abject horror if i was to die tomorrow and get reborn into her latest newborn son..
life is just simpler with death. if death wasn’t required we wouldn’t have it.
i would be very disappointed if i die then find ‘myself’ in another place.
that would make no sense at all. unless of course i get reborn into a divine universe with billions of Jessica Alba that don’t grow old are there to ‘comfort’ me for eternity.
ah wait, my thoughts went berserk and illogical for a minute, darn, i must be getting like everybody else, illogical and selfishly religious .. hehehe
