Re: Pornography - 6th October 2005

I do not think that pornography can be Educational; It can even be misleading and disturbing especially for unaware and/or underage people.

However, I would strongly recommend any kind of sexual education programs, sexual awareness, sexual discussions, etc. Those, in my point of view would be Educational and above all will help in removing the "Taboo" which only leads to frustration and misinformation.

Until this day comes, Cheers.

OK, since there were too many views on this subject matter but very very few replise...Seems to me it still is taboo.

It can be both educational and eye opener lol. Fact of the matter is, everyone wants to see it, not too many want to admit they watch it, but they do.

Frankly, I rather see a pair of ***** on TV than death and distruction, or human suffering. I am pretty sure this sentence can be debated over and over again.

Educational, yes...you can learn a thing or two. It may also save a marriage...you know..sort of spice things up when couples get kinda bored. It should not be perversive. Hey check out my avatar for crying out loud.

It seems it is ok to Kill a cop, rape women, attack and hurt humans, blow up things, steal, rob, destroy AND even comit suicide on TV and video games; BUT it is forbidden to show a pair of nice breasts on TV.

Where do you draw the line? Well I can tell you, there are some sick &*$@ in porn...really really sick. However, the choices are there, and you do not have to get them.

It is a growing industry...48 Billion in sales in the U.S. alone. Biggest market of adult toys? UTAH...go figure, land of the Mormons..Every year, Porn conventions in the U.S. are sold out and they just get bigger and bigger. Most revenues generated on the internet? You guessed it. Most searched item? you guessed it. Most pics/videos downloaded? You guessed it.

Now, imagine your mom or dad walk into the house while you are enjoying a nice really violent movie at the age of 15. Sure they look at you, and they simply walk away. Now imagine this, you go through your dads porn collection and find a video..you are watching it, power goes off, tape gets stuck in the player, you are praying to all the divines on the planet and the heavens but no luck..then your parents walk in...and the power comes back and the tapes starts playing...you think your mom and dad will just look at you and give you a big thumbs up? HA!...

Don't ask me how I know this

falafel maker I think 48 billion is a bit exagerated. I was once watching a documentary about the porn industry in US and they said its a 4 billion industry. What shocked me was that most emerging companies are family run
They gave the example of a guy who graduated from UCLA with an MBA and decided to open a porn film production company with his mother, now they are millionaires!!!
What is also sad is that the highest demand is for the sickest and most degrading form of porn. Its really disgusting.....I highly doubt that this kind of porn is educational

aah...a quick search on the industry brought in roughly 10 billion last year. apologies on the $ figure.

The sick part? You are right..it is growing and is getting sicker by the year..but the demand is so high that is it is too sick to handle.

Default difference btw pornography actors & politicians - 8th October 2005

porn actors are simply ****ing in front of us, we often lower the volume (for security reasons).
politicians often **** us with their attitudes and positions. I sometimes prefers the positions taken by the actors, they seem to be less shamefull.

Aside being educational and/or pervert, do not forget that it is employing thousands of persons, there are sexe academies in Canada (similar to star academy) and school teaching the 'correct' ways and rules to act in such movies.

porno movies will become educational only when the taboo is removed from pornography, and society starts to look at it as another normal industry.

Finally every thing can be pervert or educational. it all depends on what the culture of the society is made up from.

Depends on witch spectrum of this field you look into. Some may be educational , while others are disgusting and degrading. This is part of life in America..swingers clubs, S&M....is a long list of weird stuff.

There is an actual class in college that shows porn as part of it's program, but who nows what kind??

It's a grey area, I don't see how it's educational unless you want to learn new sex techniques. LOL

It can also be stimulating for a sex life within a relationship. Should we consider it as "ok" when couples use it for their own pleasure, and "perverse" when a single person gets pleasure on his/her own by watching it?

We had sex education (it was compulsory) in high school that taught us about pregnancy, body parts, condoms etc.

However, it is a highly successful industry, does that mean all who view it are perverse?

I guess it sometimes makes us visualise deep fantasies that we would never indulge in ourselves for whatever reason.

I'm speaking from a male perspective, but what do women think?

I don't think there's really that much porn suitable to the female appetite. Do females even have an appetite? :P
