Of course, they haven't found how exactly the brain works because it is very complex machine.

But scientist know that there are parts of our brain that are responsible for our body function, like vision, thinking......

If the brain doesn't cause mental states then what would cause mental state ? magical power ? !!!

Remember that if someone gets a damage in his brain then he might become insane or have abnormal function in his body. Thats because the brain is responsible for every function in our body.

You are contradicting yourself here ...

How can scientists know that certain parts of the brain make you think if they haven't found out how exactly the brain works?

Don't you know that scientists have made the assumption that the brain is what makes one think ... until they can find a better explanation?

You can say that the brain determines the level of intelligence ... but you still need to prove that the brain is the cause of the mind.

I didn't say that scientist don't know anything about brain. Scientist know a lot about brain but not everything.

No, is not an assumption. They know by experiments.

If not magical power then by what ?

You still need to tell me from where our mind comes from ? If not from brain then from where it comes from ?

The only thing that I can tell you is that mind and consciousness are just the result of neural processes in our brain. Mind and consciousness is just human illusion. You feel that you are consciousness but you brain is noting, it is just a very complex machine. And feelings are noting but a physical reaction. When your stomach is empty your brain releases chemicals that make stimulation in your brain and you would feel hungry. The same thing can be explained for feelings such as fear, love, sexual desires...................

In brain every bits have a different job, for example the hippocampus is particularly important for memory but it doesn't work alone. It is just like how a computer works..... Every bit is important for the whole function of the brain...

If you don't agree with this rational and logical explanation then at least tell me from where the mind comes from, and explain how does the mind work. If you can't then I declare myself as a winner in this debate.

By the way, in the near future we might create robots that are similar to us.

Btw Materialist, Robots are evolving really fast.. AI is playing a major role in their development.

DaManInChrist,

Did you read what Materialist posted? Or you are here to preach? Why don't you read and discuss??

If they don't know everything about the brain, then they can't be 100% sure of what they've figured out about the brain, for what they do not know about the brain might change their current views about the brain once it is known.

Are the experiments based on assumptions? Yes or no?

From the One who created us in His image.

Don't make the mistake of treating what you said above as proven facts. Remember ... scientists still have much to know about the brain.

Our mind comes from God. It's controlled by the brain, but it's not caused by the brain.

Of course, I read what he posted.

Why do you think I'm commenting on his points?

There is already projects to simulate a complete human brain in a computer
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Brain

And we have already simulated "half a virtual mouse brain" on a supercomputer
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/6600965.stm

It is just a matter of time to prove that human brain is just a complex biological machine, and the immaterial part of our mind does not exist

Just reread all your posts.

All your posts are based on assumptions.

There are Zero evidence that support your argument.....

Yes ... a matter of time ...

How easy it is for people to get lost by wild scientific claims.

My posts are not based on assumptions. They're based on God's Words.
