Default Organs Donation - 10th October 2005

I'd like to know what do you think of organ donations.
Most of the people support it, and label it as a positive and humanitarian. But how many will dare and choose to donate their organs?
What're the repercussions of this decision on the donor's family?

I definately support that and with the idea of donating organs i dunno why it scares people though they know well how many lives they are going to save..some can sign papers when dead to give all good organs to people who need it just to live and i know its a great step to be done as you part of you will remain alive in the one you donate and his family will keep your memory alive in their hearts and yes i am willing to donate my organs when i die not just because i want to be remebered in the hearts of others but to save other peoples lives so why not once i die i wont need my orgasms no more dont we all think that.......

i definetly support it, especially if it is for my brother or a member of my family or a close friend, but in Lebanon it is somehow bad seen or people arent well informed about the case, if the donation will cause any damage in our body....People used to sell their organs during war and i found that so unethical, an organ should be given for free, many sick people need organs in Lebanon but the main problem as i said before is INFORMATION

I've been reading somwehere that some people fear doctors will not try to save their life if doctors know they want to be a donor.....and many other paranoid stories.

how do you propose to alleviate those fears and translate them into awareness so that we could motivate the masses on this humanitarian act

Informing the mass...
Actually i'm still informing myself on this subject; The idea popped in my mind yesterday, and i'm waiting for more input/info.
I've read that a person can print a "donor card", and hold it in his/her pocket.
If God forbids, someone holding this card did a car accident, and the people trying to save him/her found about this card...will they try to take advantage from this "donator" and mess with his/her chances to survive?
