Well society and norms can play a big role in it true, however it might not be tracked back to this reason only. Anybody knows about its psychological background? As men and women functionate differently concerning emotions, it may well have other reasons too.

Generalization, as you may be aware, doesn't get you anywhere. This is more of a personal level. Men and women can have sex without getting attached nor have any feelings. It's not something that men have where women lack.

Well in my opinion, society and norms are the only role there is. I have no idea concerning what you claim as men and women function differently in terms of emotions. I doubt its truth.

we are talking about others sexual lives and this is totaly diffrent .
when we talk about the subject on personal level i think the subject will have more meaning ..
now as we deal with this matter we are generalising and take it all as a whole package and this is wrong of course there is a diffrence between men and women concerning this kind of " one night stand" . there will always be some men who will refuse it a small very smal minority but the majority will go for it it is well known and we all know it is the case ... while for women it is diffrent the majority of women cant simply go into this kind of one night sex only and then bye bye thing without feelings and the majority of women value and keep it a sacred relation now of course ,there is always exeptions and some will do it just to fulfill a sexual need , nevertheless it is not what woman in general apreciate the most, while man do not have any problem with it .

now i am i for it or against it? personaly i am not for it and unless i am in love and i mean IN LOVE with the person i cant give him what is most precious for me . so the one night stant is not my thing . i do not judge others who do it because i think that every one has the right to do what ever they feel happy with . i heard once a woman saying "one night ? fine with me i live the moment deeply and happily tomorow is another day" .... i was shocked because i do not believe or think like her for me a relation as intimate as this should involve feelings and lots of romantisme and what goes with it ... but if she is ok with it let it be ... as i said before live and let live .
i dont want to be sexist but woman in most of the cases are diffrent from the man and think diffrently when it comes to this kind of sexual relation .

for me it will never be called having sex but making love is more what i would like to call it . and there reside all the diffrence

You are right Coralie, there was a lot of generalization here, I try to avoid it but its not always successful. And certainly there are those cliches imprinted into public opinion which make harder not to generalize.
But then everybody can give their opinions how they see it personally.

I can not accept the idea of one night stand neither, as how could I make love to a totally stranger, whom I wont see never after, and to whom I don’t have any feelings.
And no not because of any religious constrains, or social norm or whatever, simply because I wouldn’t feel comfortable that way. And doesn’t have the urge at all to try it.

So as suggested we can move to a personal level, so that everybody can give their personal opinions why they accept it, or why they reject it. And you can consider my "lots of questions" too posted in the beginning of the thread:)

One night stands may be percieved as acceptable based upon mutual consent, and certainly not so, via deception of one or the other. All humans (women included) have feelings which should be considered and respected. It takes both the man and the woman to ensure a successfull reproduction of a human being, thus, both are equal in every respect.

Furthermore, honesty sometimes can expose a persons level of ignorance without consideration for fellow human beings. A man with self respect would certainly conjure a more subtle manner in which to present his preferences. The perception of women currently illustrated by certain "so called men", is of a primitive and below human standard, thus, there are specific paradise parks for such men, known in todays world as Animal Grazing Farms. Here these type of men may find enough sheep to fully satisfy their desires.
