Men usually show off with it to show how manly they are! How Don Juan's they are! And at the same time, some women show off with it to show that they have control over men! There's many of those all over the world. And I think that men/women who love one night stands are maybe afraid of commitment or maybe love to control the opposite sexe, or love to manipulate their feelings...

I also doubt that people can feel love during one night stands cause one night stands are all about sex! Yet sometimes Stella, one night stands could lead to love between 2 persons. One night stands usually happen at a party when u're drunk, maybe when u're feeling lonely or even frustrated... Fachet khele2 in other words :)

Exactly, you are right about the commitment part, but am not sure about manipulation, sounds weird to me in this way. How can you manipulate a stranger for example? For what?

And sure, its not excluded that it can lead to a relationship in the end.

Whether you've just broken up with your girlfriend of three years, been cheated on or you simply just haven't gotten some in a while, the reasons for seeking out instant sexual gratification are plentiful. I really don't care about reasons for a One Night Stand.. all I know is that it can never lead to a long term relationship.. well, it shouldn't!

This is a problem mainly in patrairchal societies such as Lebanon. It is only a sign of prejudice and ignorance.

I do not think it is a way of self destruction at all, it is just two consenting adults who felt sexual attraction and wanted to do have sex, sex is not a sin in anyway so I don't understand why would some people see it as self destruction.

it is cool for a man to stack up as many sexual partners as possible, I think the reason for this is our role as the hunter has not changed very much, we are the sex that has to go out and chase and hunt, so if you are able to have sex with many women it means you are a good hunter thus looked up to by other men. Stupid I know lol.... But I think that has some truth in it.

I think we both enjoy it as much as each other, sex is a basic instinct and we feel the need to do it, so a one night stand is a good way of doing it without having the excess baggage of a relationship. I think it can be destructive if it is not what you are looking for, meaning if you are looking for a long term partner yet keep falling in that one night stand trap it may affect you becuase you would obviously be looking for more yet you can not get it because the other party does not want to reciprocate. But if it is a "quickie" lol that you want then you will enjoy regardless if you are a male or female.

Sure, however if you consider why someone enters into a one night stand, isnt that some kind of self destruction, and those I mentioned in addition? Running away from whatever?

There are people too I guess who dont run from anything, are not depressed, dont feel lonely, nor empty, they dont need long term partners, as they seek only short pleasures which they want to fullfil quickly. Surely they are though the minority, and is it supposed to be normal actually? If yes, will people go for it ever more in the future, as the fragmentation of the society continues?
