Default No More Religious Threads - 25th July 2007

After receiving so many complains, I decided to close Religious Threads for now, we will try to find a way to re-open them, but it will only happen once we make sure those threads will not offend people and their beliefs.

Now that my friend is a good idea. People have no respect for other people's beliefs so it is best to not have these discussions to begin with.

excuse me but some threads aren't religious like: do u have a soul : this thread is a philosophical thread .. like secularism .... like lost hope ( 2eno where did u found that is related with religion ..) honey their is a big difference between religion and philosophies ...im not complaining im just clarifying some definition
plus for example " khytan al 2inas" is more religious than do u have a soul ? or lost hope !

This is a very bad decision, if you wanna close religious threads, close also non-religious threads (for the sake of equality), It is as if you are saying Religious members are treated better than non-religious members, which i believe violates the basic principles of the forum, regards .

As I wrote earlier in one of them religious threads, 'when someone talks to you about his religion he most probably don't want to hear about yours' and this is one thing. Another thing related to the first is this: when a religious thread is opened entitled:'Buddhism - opinions questions and answers' you are making a big mistakes by have "opinions" in there. Let anyone read ask questions and expect answers about Buddhism and maybe in some cases question the sources provided one has more accurate ones, but not question Buddhism itself. One may ask (or not) and learn (or not) but not question in a rude manner as to insult people and tell them that their religion is wrong or it ain't a religion at all . . .

these threads were created to give a chance to members to ask questions about other religions, hence the title of the threads.

the only problem we're facing is that some members get carried away and show their disrespect to other religions and then we end up facing the snowball effect!

these threads are about questions and answers and not about judging other religions!!
and when someone asks a question, there is nothing wrong with using his own religious believes while debating as long as everybody respects everybody!

I think future threads involving religion should open doors to discussing a certain social matter or a special case from a religious point of view hence having different opinions from different religious perspectives and not discussing doctrines themselves.

dalzi .....and xena:P
