A documentary claims this is the ossuary of Jesus Christ
Jesus had a son named Judah and was buried alongside Mary Magdalene, according to a new documentary by Hollywood film director James Cameron.
The film examines a tomb found near Jerusalem in 1980 which producers say belonged to Jesus and his family.
Speaking in New York, the Oscar-winning Titanic director said statistical tests and DNA analysis backed this view.
But Mr Cameron's claim has been attacked by archaeologists and theologians as unfounded.
Archaeologists said that the burial cave was probably that of a Jewish family with similar names to that of Jesus.
But Mr Cameron said the combination of names found on the tombs convinced him of their heritage. |
Few days ago I watched a talkshow about this issue on CBC (Canada). They showed pictures of the alleged tomb and what was written on its side.
The hosted person said the following: if we twist our head and try to figure out what is written with the use of some imagination we can read "Yeshou" son of "yousef", in other words "Jesus son of Joseph". There are no other evidences where when these wrods were sculted on the tomb, besides these 2 names are very common so they can belong to any 2 people. In summary, that person said the whole story is a nonsense. There are no scientific evidences to back the theory that this is Jesus Tomb.
In here I want to say my own opinion:
- Until this day i have discovered that 6 people share my full name !!!
- How do we know to whom those bones belong to. We don't have Jesus DNA to compare it with the bones...
I really don't know why people rush to ready made conclusions...
PS. This is the same when it comes to believe miracles
