Very true, this is also done in more serious situations, not qualified as emergencies though, to avoid some useless paperwork and gain some time. When ur admitted in the ER, the insurance company has no other choice but to cover your expenses regardless of ur "sickness", and they can't face u with the "We cover this, we dont cover that" classic. It's like you're putting them devant le fait accompli.

but in case you were, what does age have to do with it? Regardless of how immature I am and how mature and mighty you are, the fact remains that general exams, if not an emergency, are not cheap. It has happened to me and countless other people I know in Lebanon. Not everyone has the luxury (or not for that matter) to reside in the States.
