i don't know how old you are but general screening exams depend on the age, family history, and of course risk factors...

how old are you?

i really hope you were not addressing me...

but in case you were, what does age have to do with it? Regardless of how immature I am and how mature and mighty you are, the fact remains that general exams, if not an emergency, are not cheap. It has happened to me and countless other people I know in Lebanon. Not everyone has the luxury (or not for that matter) to reside in the States.

Jeez!

Very true, this is also done in more serious situations, not qualified as emergencies though, to avoid some useless paperwork and gain some time. When ur admitted in the ER, the insurance company has no other choice but to cover your expenses regardless of ur "sickness", and they can't face u with the "We cover this, we dont cover that" classic. It's like you're putting them devant le fait accompli.

I am 25 years old. My family has only blood pressure.
Well I should make an exam, even though my health is in good condition (as I feel), the only problem is that I am getting fat and a few times I feel some chest pains... and I need to check this up.
It's been like 10 years I didnt make a blood test, and I think it is the time.

After thinking about it, you are right he wasn't addressing me... It is just that everyone suddenly is so conscious and ethically correct. Anyway... my apologies to Kappa!

you will need to have your blood pressure checked every couple of years and to have a fasting lipid profile every 5 years and drop a fasting blood sugar as well..

if you are a woman, you need to add a Pap Smear as well..
