What is your position on Gays/Lesbians? They don't exist like in Iran?
I remember that when the first parliamentary session in 2005 started (perhaps not the first but a couple of weeks later), he raised the question of the law that permits incarceration of gays in Lebanon (I forgot what law that was exactly), and he demanded for a change (to delete that law). This is a very political question, since it touches the values of our society. The debate didn't go far. I think he got a lot of criticism, that it had too little publicity, and perhaps Aoun realized that he wasn't in an progressive country anymore...

Ah, my apologies then, I didn't know that...

I think we should soon witness a new book published "new and funny jokes by Ahmadinajad", he must be the new Najib Hankach of the century!

te3teer... I wonder what other things Ahmadinajad does not want to exist besides Israel and gays...

this man is becoming really unpredictable!...

pathetic...

I support mentioning his issue to confirm that it IS NOT and should not be an issue.
I always remind myself how the Republicans in the US used such hypocritical issues to divide and scare the people so they can win, simply because they didn’t want to talk about the real people’s issues like the bad economy, the huge deficits and the war in Iraq.
They used hatred to divide and control their own people and now, they are doing it the rest of the world.
They hate it when people tolerate each other. They love the business of war.
Does that sound familiar?

JAZ, we have one member so far in this thread who suggested to burn them, and another one who would rather not describe what he thinks should be done on a public forum :)

What do the Republicans have to do with that?

It’s called homophobia because of the lack of education on the issue just like many other irrelevant issues used to distract the people while they’re pick-pocketing them.
I’m not trying to attack the homophobic because I’m honest enough to say I used to be one myself, just like I used to think that the Muslims and the Atheists and the communists, they all want to hurt me. I know better now.
As far as the mentioning of the Republicans, I didn’t mean the hurt your feelings but, I happen to be an American Citizen who cares about the best interests of America just like I do about Lebanon. So it hurts me to see Bush steal the elections from two far superior candidates (Al Gore and John Kerry) for America and the rest of the world and its environment (other than Israel and the Big Corporations) using the fear factor in the above issue.

I think we could well use those threads to hear out the homophobic. We can listen to what they have to say about the issue. I kind of disagree with you regarding it being a non-issue, it's punishable under Lebanese laws to be a gay, and it could result in being imprisoned up to a year under article 534 of the penal code.

rgds,

rgds,
More of the fear factor….

My Lebanon Law real story:

I asked my 15 year old son about his impression of Lebanon following his first visit ever. He said, I love it! I love its law.
I say, what are you talking about?
He goes; there is NO Law, DaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaD,
He is a pure Lebanese and I love him too.
Any way, I got to go, catch you later.

Someone mentioned something about gay rights being granted... So, we rectify politically but destroy socially? What kind of beliefs are those?

I don't think that such rights will ever pass in Lebanon, not with 85% of people against such ****. What does GMA think? If he supports this stuff, then break the alliance with HA min halla2 lol.
