I started smoking because a friend of mine told me that if you smoke 10 cigarettes every day you will loose weight.

And now it has been 3 years from ever since i started smoking and i didn't loose any pound yet !!!!!!

ma l3amal ya toura????
well I have been smoking for quite a long time and in the end I was smoking around 2 pkts a day..yes you guys are right ma fee metel el cigerette when your watching a movie or sitting by the seashore watching the sunset .. but later on your lungs wont be able to take it anymore .. If you dont feel anything now it will affect you later on so try and quit NOW ..Just stop ! throw all cig boxes away and put in your mind that you want to quit otherwise if you get the most expensive pills to stop you from smoking you wont be able to stop .. the most important thing is will power If you have will power to quit you can do it! I have stopped smoking since april.. iT WAS HECTIC AND I nearly killed every customer that walked into the shop coz I wanted Nicotine ! I gained weight and this is normal when you quit but I fought it and now am I back to my normal self again ..I think I am hehe ..I am breathing better and can do my exercises without going red in the face and being breathless and Im not hearing any wheezing in the evenng as I m sleepin and no coughing too .. nicotine patches and gum wont work if you dont have the will power !
So go for it zouxi111..try and stop now !! goodluck !

I read about 'em free radicals that come from the tobacco and destroy your body tissues and that the antioxidants you get from the food daily are far from enough to fight them. I read that it gets you high blood pressure and that it increases the liver secretions of enzymes so it brakes the vitamins faster and this is the main reason ppl get used to smoking after a meal. I read that Jean Nicote a Spanish doctor brought tobacco to Europe back from his trip to South America and nicotine which is called after him was first extracted in 1901 and it's a transparent matter when compressed and turns yellow when not.
I smoke around 1.5 packs a day and started smoking 7 years ago with about 2 years of stopping in between. I don't want to quit at least for now.

For those who choose to quit:
- Don't smoke in closed places
- Smoke less with your morning coffee
- Don't smoke right after a meal, wait about 30mins and gradually quit doing it
- this is for zouxxi: you don't have to go with the patch and the gum and the 'stop right away' thing. quit gradually. after all see what suits you, it's not the end of the world. After all, ALL SMOKERS WILL DIE.

i don't smoke, i hate smoking, i hate the smell, and i hate smoker's smell as well (sorry forum's smokers ) i tried it once when i was 18 i almost suffocated
it's just disgusting!
but what intrigues me is that how can someone smokes knowing what's happening to him from the inside?

you're saying that there's nothing better than smoking a cigarettes 3al ba7er.... but can you at least able to smell the fresh air? guys your lungs are so screwed up that you can't even enjoy it as much as we do!

...we will live longer, healthier, and our beauty will last longer

anyway, i guess all it needs is the will!
hey did anyone try that chinese needle treatment? it's said to be very effective!! but then you'll need the will not to restart again because if i'm not mistaken in one week or maybe 2 i don't know you'll be clean! (not sure of the info though)

my grandmother was a very heavy smoker, she started smoking at the age of 15, one day, 30 years ago she smoked a cigarette and said this is the last one i'm ever going to smoke...everyone laughed and told her it was impossible considering the fact that she was extremely addicted...but she hasn't smoked ever since! so strong determination all the way!

on the other hand my mother decided to quit smoking last year.... after one week i personally went a bought her cigarettes and kindly asked her to stop smoking once i'm off to belgium...because the mood swings were unbelievable!
so when i left, she tried once again...but this time my dad went a bought her the cigarattes

if you want to fight free radicals you need to take vitamin E on a daily basis and don't just rely on the food!
besides free radicals don't only come from tobacco....they're formed from within our body...a free radical steals electrons from a molecule who becomes a free radical itself..et ainsi de suite... so if tobacco increases its level, alla ynajina...just imagine the damage! that's why i guess smokers have usually damaged skin since the free radicals damages accumulate with age!

if you don't want to quit smoking at least take Vitamin E and C!
the vitamin E is very efficient and evryone should take it even non smokers...and the vitamin C is good for smokers since it fights free radicals that were formed because of tobacco and pollution.
and don't forget to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables!

No way trust me, if she is non smoker, she will make you go and have a careful teeth brush after every cigarette
But in first hand you need to stop for your own sake, and not for anybody else.

Its all about strong will and determination. From your posts it seems to me, you like the idea of quitting but actually you dont have the intention. Is it?:D
