They told us that hell is the place we go to if we were bad in our lives. (right?)
I tell you what you are doing in this life is not for this life, you will be rewarded even in your next hell-life or your next heaven-life (relatively speaking) because at the end, like it or not, you're going to the so called heaven.
Do you know The Parable of the Talents? if you do, do you know what does it mean ? Quote:
am not sure that religion cant answer most question as far as i know christians can answer all, i would recommend you to read " The Confessions of St Augestine" really good book ^_^. to me when i was christian i never believe in the church nor in priests, i dont need them, all i need was my bible. this is from the Thomas Gospel ( Nag Hammadi) "77 :Yeshúa says: I-Am the Light who is above them all, I-Am the All. All came
forth from me and all return to me. Cleave wood, there am I. Lift up the
stone and there you shall find me." God is everywhere we dont need the church or priests to talk with god... so the church and priests screwing up shouldnt affect the so called believer... so the church can go on killing ppl ex:Spanish Inquisition, the war on cathar, islam etc... or it can sell places in heaven, or rape children all those shouldnt affect the christian believer, when jesus came he said i think " Hear what they preach but dont do what they do ( he was talking about the priest)", jesus clearly didnt like priests and stuff he use to call them hypocrite to me nothing has changed :P, same situation different ppl :D, priest are just hypocrites... so if you are affected by priest and the church i think you have a small problem, the christian faith isnt build on those but on jesus.... like i said in my first post the death of god and rebirth is envitable ^_^...
| Nobody is telling you to believe in the church, not even the church itself, nor its priests.
Jesus did not ask you to believe in him, he told you follow me, because only through Jesus you can reach God.
Now don't tell me that Muslims can't reach god! Jesus here is a way of living, a level of faith, you can find it in many religions.
No religions can't answer all the questions, and i told you why in my previous post. Quote:
nop i dont think it's insulting, it's just that they didnt have the tools that we have right now for example we know when the bibles where written and we know that the church chosen to keep some bible and discard some hence the "Nag Hammadi library gospels" the bible is about 66 books or 73 depending on the sect and it is written by 40 writters, and most likly we know that the actually gosples wherent written by " Mathew, Mark, Luke, John" since they are written about 70 B.C so the persons who actually wrote the bible never met jesus in the first place, it's more like a story which was told and i know one thing or two about how humans tell stories , yeah they add a lot of Bhar and mele7 and Mark and Luke are thought to have been copied from a previouse gospel known as Q gospel ( Q stands for Source in german, it's still a theoratical gospel), and now it is known that the story of Adam and Eve is just a myth and Noah as well , Noah is known to be taken from a story before christian if you want the book it is called " The Epic of Gilgamesh " ( written by the summarian civilization) , i guess when you add all those up and some other stuff .... about the opposite of wrong isnt correct yeah i believe so as well that it doesnt have to be, this is from St Augestine book well i dont have the book right now but it means something like this " Darkness is not a matter itself but it's the lack of light" and about the truth this is what i believe right now...
"Truth is a made up word
Describes something that doesn’t exist
The world in the eye of the holder;
There is no truth but perspective"
| I can give you thousands (and maybe more) of contradictions, and of names who wrote about Jesus before and after, and honestly i do not care who wrote them or when did they do it, in a couple years I might be able to write something about Jesus and the Christianity, the point here is do you understand Jesus' parables or not ? If you don't you have the right to say what you're saying, however I feel pity that you're not looking for an answer, If you do,... forget it , I'm sure you don't.

Fate ? here we go back to the fact that humans are weak and their actions and decisions are predetermined and the outcome is already calculated. I have trouble with fate, don't like it's concept.
Every Human Beeing is responsible for his/her actions. This concept EMPOWERS Humanity; we start to believe in our own power, our own decision making capabilities, instead of shall we say .... praying (which is identical to meditating, scientifically speaking) and hoping.
To Layouss: Not Zeitgeist, Zeitgeist was just a tool, something that contained most of the arguments I use and gave them better phrasing and structure. People like George Carlin, and Bill Hicks on the other hand, even though comedians, but were the only ones to tackle taboos in every culture. These are the people I admire. Their work was extensively used in Zeitgeist.
Taboos, another miracle from religion.Instead of not doing something because we're not supposed to or because it's "3ayb" (the word that would cause me to murder a parent if i heard him say "3ayb" to his kids), why don't we don't do things because we simply are conviced that they are bad?
I, for one, left my theistic belief system on the sidelines, i consider the existance of god to have little or no direct influence on the "proceedings" of our life. I get sort of alienated whenever someone mentions a miracle, how someone was miraculously healed, because or god, and can't justify the wipe out of 5000 people from a tsunami. And when i mentionned that a Doctor, cured cancer that was eating up a ZYGOTE, they say that the doctor shouldn't have been doing god's work. Punchin this person in the face would've been a great gift for humanity. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Excalibur For This Useful Post: | | | Registered Member

I think the idea of god is a sort of mass control, i mean lets look at the roman empire 2000 years ago they used to have many gods to worship and these same gods were made up by philosophers for mass control and to plunge fear into the residents so they can obey orders and do as their told.
There is no true evidence that god created this world, religious people believe that the earth is 10 000 years old, do you actually believe that this earth is 10 000 years old??
Science says no and there is evidence. There are hundreds of convincing theories Like Darwin and Richard Dawkins.
But this dosint really mean that i dont believe in god, i dont believe in god as a white bearded person in the sky, but i actully see god as a much more complicated matter that we cannot understand. (although lately iv been loosing my faith more and more)
Maybe he dosint exist at all, but well what do i know. | | | | | Registered Member

Your logic is saying, If I write a book right now and say that something happened and spread it then it must happen because I said so and there were witnesses, etc. Are you serious ? | | | | | Registered Member

I believe in God because I believe that there is a creator/programmer for this system which we live, Sure as hell not a coincidence (creation of world) just like anything related to politics isn't a coincidence. | | | | | Community Team Leader

Welcome to the Forum tricky, it was just my opinion, and I did not say i pity you, I said I feel pity for you. To feel pity for someone is something and to pity someone or have pity on someone is something else. (bala m3almiyyeh)
Anyways don't take it personal, by "you" I meant anyone who thinks like this "IF" this is the case.
I'll reply to the rest later.

Look back to what I said about God suddenly creating the world. It shows how religious people think backwards; They live in a present which they believe required a creator in the past, but when you go back to the point "the world was created", you'll realize that it doesn't make sense for it to happen so that we live in the present. You have to be inclusive and not "live in the moment". | | | | | Registered Member

Regards, | The part of "I'm sure you dont" the last sentence :P.... hehe to me they sound the pity someone and to feel pity to someone i guess we can agree that pity is a feeling :P so hence it's the same (bala m3almiyeh as well :P )...
since you dont have a clue what i stand for and stuff you cant say you and mean anybody else... if you are talking about atheist you say atheists if you are talking about gnostic people you say agnostic ppl... i'm but myself, nor atheist nor agnostic nor anything.... i have my own ideas about life and everything, dont follow any religion, country, political or anything... i create my own as i go along... so when you say "you" i take it personal. | | | | | | |
