Explaining a mystery you don't understand by calling it God is laziness, forcing it down the throat of others is called closed mindedness.

It took some mortals over 1400 years to understand what was given to them back then. Quote: |

| Who's "forcing" what on who? I can believe in God if I like, you can believe in apes if you like. If you cannot tolerate a discussion without resorting to attacks, then you're probably going to meet your match very soon. Quote: |

In other words, despite whether god exists or not, the idea of its existence is not only widely accepted but also backed by many arguments specially ontological arguments from philosophers and let's say trustworthy people which again gives credibility to the god idea.
Since the logic of most people is able to accept the idea of the existence of a supreme being and since it's part of people's traditions, conventions and customs i believe that the burden of proof should be on the party claiming the nonexistence. If you want to discredit a widely accepted theory, you'd better have a real proof.
Since proving the existence or the nonexistence apparently isn't very possible and that only arguments are used then as i said in my previous post, the belief or nonbelief in god is only a matter of a personal opinion.
Therefore discussing whether god exists or not without having a solid proof is just a vicious circle.
so whether you believe in god or not depends on your education, your personal experiences, your own way of seeing things and not on rational thinking and common sense. | But again, what's "publicly accepted?" Before less than a 100 years, knowledge was restricted to a few, and how "publicly accepted" an idea is can hardly be an indicator of the validity of it. Don't new inventions shatter "publicly accepted" concepts of the past?
As False Morel said at the end, all I have to do is repeat the dinosaur story enough times to get the same fame. "A lie told often enough becomes the truth." Quote:

The difference seems to be that some people are satisfied with their lack of knowledge, while others attribute unexplained concepts to a supreme being. So as Danny said, every few years, what was once attributed to the supreme being becomes scientifically explainable. Quote:

How do you know beyond reasonable doubt that it is their faith in the supreme being that saved them? I think you don't, you just believe it because you're a believer. you know that Pope John Paul II who created more saints than all his predecessors
combined suffered an assasination attempt in rome, and attributed it to the intervention
by Virgin Mary, saying that a "material" hand guided the bullet. dont you wonder why she
didnt guide it to miss him altogether?
If god existed and wanted to prove it, he would at least filled the world with super miracles and
avoid the controversy.to me his existence is a scientific hypothesis just like any other.
On a side note Im not sure of how pleasant he is after allowing all religions that call for praying for him spread by the sword i.e christianity and Islam.

Muslims see God in science, everything that science 'explains' doesn't contradict Islam, on the contrary it strenghtens it.

| God calls his good worshipers saints, man made saints are 'voted' by lunatics for power and making money. Don't blame them, blame the people who don't think. The church and all that comes with it is an abomination to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Jesus came with humility not gilded with gold, he taught compassion not murder. Quote:

| Never is there a line in the scripture that calls for spreading religion by the sword, on the contrary, faith is in the heart. Those who performed those acts in history did it for personal interest with religion as a cover. The crusades were working for Rome's power just as the church with its hierarchical system was created for that power, they were not 'performing' what Jesus taught, rather what the clergy dictated. Same goes for the crescades who are serving no one but the enemy. Likewise the zionists who are 'atheists' but jews.
Confessionaries for example, have no link to Jesus whatsoever, they were made for political purposes to get info out of the people and the poor mortals still think it's a divine deed even after finding no link to it whatsoever in the scripture.
For the record, there is no line the the Qur'an that mentions the word 'sword'. | | | | | Registered Member

Since your knowledge on Islam is that of a Mufti, as well as you being the knowledgable 'scientist' here while all religious people on this forum come from a stable, they why dont' we do it the other way round. Start by explaining Islam, then the 'theory' of evolution to see how God created Darwin and his apes. Quote:
