Without God there is no purpose for existence, so life is rendered purposeless.

Quote:
"We created god in our own image and likeness!"
- George Carlin
God was not created in man's image to start with. The figure that was made God like is Jesus, but Jesus is not God Mr wise guy Carlin. Neither OT nor NT nor Qur'an say that God is a man. I don't know why when some want to score points over theists, they resort to mortal interpretations on scriptures rather than actual sources. This statement of Carlin's is proof that he lacks knowledge on anything related to God.

What I’m trying to say without insulting anyone here: You need to describe the word “God” before you ask me if I believe in “God”.
I asked in a previous post if anyone believes in “Ehad” without describing the word “Ehad”. I got absolutely no reaction and no one asked me what I meant by Ehad…

Some call “God” a “he”. Is that a convenient assumption or a confirmed fact?
Some accuse you of insulting God if you declared yourself an atheist that don’t believe in God but how can you insult someone you are not aware of his/her existence?

The bottom line is: It’s a trick question.
well, that's because u posted the question for only two hours and barely anyones visits this thread.

mystery solved hehe

but ya, me too i always ask religious ppl to define god b4 they go into a deep debate with me that wastes my time as usual.

Lacking knowledge is "lack of knowledge" and "lack of knowledge" is not wisdom, it's something else...

dalzi if u were my wife and u were killer gorgeous i'd tell u that i worship u when we are in bed, but it doesn't mean i have any idea what i am talking about here, i'd be just frisky wou moutfeh.

the same thing applies to god, ppl just want to cling to god in their hours of need to feel good cuz they look around and they see a cool world.
so they hold a rock or flower or tree trunk close and worship the god who supposedly created those...

nothing wrong with that

humans are frisky creatures by nature.

but a hot wife is real, an imaginary person in the clouds is not..

but hey, whatever makes ppl feel good in their imaginary 'knowledge'.

i understand that ;)

I doubt that any human hasn't questioned the presence of God. Faith doesn't come from not knowing what you're on about.

You're very wrong, faith in God is not due to the feeling of need. He's present in intense moments of happiness much more than times of need. Which person has less worries about life and what comes after it? Atheist or believer? We don't believe in God because it's fun, we believe in him because we are convinced that there is a creator.

So everything you don't see or feel is not real? You didn't believe in microorganisms till you invented the device that enables you to see them; that doesn't mean that they didn't exist before.
