I know all the "theorical" parts u are going to hear : excercice..stop eating fat ... stop eating chocolates..eat fruits,.....
But in practice , a busy working person cannot stick with this trend of life....
here are few tips that will help not loosing ur weight drasticallay , but put u on the right track with no effort and no starving.....

1- drink water instead of all kind of other beverages ( even juices )... and if ur craving for a drink try the diet ones ( diet pepsi , diet coke)...but don't drink a lot of these because i have my doubts about the chemical stuff they put inside like aspartame

2-eat lebanese food : lebanese food is one of the healthiest food in the world ( if u rule out the kebbit chahm of zgharta) ...eat whatever u like of the lebanese food ( tabbouleh , hommos , koussa mehchi,machewi,.....) just avoid using samne and oil in the cooking process ( u can use canola oil for the food that " ma byenbala3o bala chwaiit frying)

3-avoid americain food ( even if in some resto they give u a "light" version of the burger or other food)

4- eat big meals to avoid eating snacks ( especially chocolate, bzourat , chips...)

5-eat whatever ur like of lebanese fruits ( exotic fruits like coconut , ananas,... try to avoid)

6- for snacks: don't believe the labels " light potatoes" , "chocolate bars with no sugar" ,...fat free ..... most processed food snacks contains something called trans-fat , the food itself maybe "fatfree" but once inside ur body this transfat will process the food to fats inside ur blood....so try to avoid snacks altogether....try to replace with lawz akhdar , fistok halabi , bazela khadra ,...if necessary...

7-avoid mixing carbohydrates together ( ya3ni bil 3arabi el mchabra7): don't eat hommos with khoboz , don't eat pasta with khoboz , don't eat for example rice and khoboz in one meal ...choose either u eat with bread ur meal or u eat rice with it but not both at the same time....

these are the really basics knowledge where u should start...once ur on the right track u can go harder with more strict dieting and exercice

interesting information SM! i personnaly didn't know that "makhlouta" in some regions is the same as our "bzoorat" !!
and in that case, well this "makhloota" is very rich in lipids and fat content..sad but true

Cheers!

Niether did I. I think there are also other kinds of foods with different names, i just can't recall any.

But if you're talking about the bzourta (makhlouta) they're very high in calories if you eat a lot of them. The salt defenitly doesn't help. They do contain a good amount of protien, but they also contain fats that in excess could do u more harm than good.

I hate diet and i hate counting calories for everything i want to eat. I didn't try it but i hate the idea.

Few years ago, i got some stressing problems in my stomac and the doctor told me: to stop the pain i have to follow some rules and without knowing i lost weight , ma3 inno i wasn't fat and this was not my intention, but look what he told me to do:

You can eat whatever you want in a small quantity and stop eating just before feeling full. Ya3ni when you feel that you are on the first level of "Chab3a" stop eating. In this way you don't push your stomac to delate And day after day you won't ask for a lot of food, your stomac will use to get a little quantity.
Let the period between ur meals be at least 4 hours, no la2maché just drink a lot of water.

At the beginning it's not easy but later on u get used to it.

it's only about putting the target and work to achieve it.
you need to read more about it and know how diet works because it depends from people to others.

SNACK LIKE A PRO.. GUYS!
EVEN IF DOES MEAN FREEZING GRAPES OR CARRYING SPOONS AROUND WITH YA!
Time your Snacks ..
Allow yourself about 300 calories for snacks and schedule them throughout the day..Thats a 2-finger kitkat (122cals)to feed your chocolate cravings at 11a.m or for the mid afternoon slump and a low fat yoghurt for your evening munchies..your light bite..can be a plate of hummus without oil ..its high in taste but low in calories ..
Distract yourself :
whenever your feeling u could eat a box of pringles in one second just give yourself a manicure whenever your infront of a box.. Trust me ,Its impossible to eat when your hands are covered in Nailpolish ... For a light bite... anywhere u go take a mini jar of crunchy peanut butter and a spoon . Its a satisfying ,stop-the-gap snack, which stabilizes blood sugar levels ,too.
Sit up Straight ...
Always sit down to a snack and make sure you sit up straight. This way , food gets straight in the bit of your stomache which sends those'Ive had enough' messages to the brain. For the light bite... Carry olives around as a snack . They only contain 3 calories each so you'd have to eat 1,166 to put on measly a pound.
Freeze grapes...
snack tip ..Frozen grapes really helps you lose weight..Mix up red and white
ones and put them into a snack-size freezer bag. They taste just like wine gums and are only 3 calories each. For the light bite ...You can have a low version of Tortilla chips...Cut up pasta sheets and cook.then cover with herbs and spices and bake in the oven for 15 minutes .They taste just like the real thing but without all the calories..
Bank your dessert...
Instead of eating dessert when finishing a meal 'bank' your afters for an afternoon or evening snack instead. That way you wont feel like your depriving yourself of treats-but dont end up -doubling -or -tripling-up on them either. For a light bite....Cut up a few squares of chocolate with seeds. Its healthy and satisfying and you cant just shovel it down like a chocolate bar.
