I was on a diet to gain weight.
I gained 8 kgs. I focused on eating the food that is high-concentrated in sugar. For example: bread, pasta, rice, hommos, gâteaux, biscuits, chocolate, cocktails (home-made : strawberry, banana, milk, with 4-5 spoons of sugar).
Don't forget to lift weight. Because lifting weight won't let you loose weight. When lifting weights to gain volume, don't do more than 6-8 reps each set. And rest for 2 min after each set. Because as much as you avoid working your heart , as much as you won't loose weight.
This is why those who want to loose weight when training, they work their heart as much as possible. So these people when lifting weights, they do usually 12-15 reps in each set and they don't rest between sets. Totally different from those who want to gain weight. Anyway, this is how I gain weight (with no fat) and muscles.
p.-s. : protein supplement won't give any weight-gain at all. Only Creatine which will help you lift more weight, therefore your muscle will get bigger. (when your muscle get bigger it means more water in it, so more water = more weight)
