Default Did you ever keep a diary? - 17th March 2007

I have never kept a diary (journal intime) but my son is wanting to keep one. Of course, it is his choice and I will not interfere with it. But for those of you who are keeping one or have previously kept one, what do you do with it? Do you often revert to it? Does it sometimes bother you as I imagine it should include many of your bad experiences as well as your good ones?

I had a diary till I was 15. I read it sometimes and I laugh a lot with all I wrote. I also like to re-live what I felt in some important situations. When i read I still can feel in my heart what I felt then.

I still write on it, but not everyday, but only when something really important happens... but now I never begin with "Dear Diary" but with "Dear God".

A diary is truly important because it help us to understand what is really going on with us and it help us to understand ourselves better. I always think that writing on my diary is a like a Prayer. (Don't forget to hide it Very well!!)

I have only kept a journal for reflective writing purposes, as the method has been proven to enhance and develop EI (emotional intelligence) and alot of careers require reflective writing skills......its a good thing to develop

I just recently started logging my daily thoughts and feelings into it - a bit late I know. It's just that I realized it helps me understand myself better instead of having chaotic thoughts and emotions all the time...

yes i always had a dairy since i was 12 years until 10 years ago ...

i use to write on daily base sometimes it was long pages and some days just few words .

when i read back the old old ones i laugh i realy laugh ... it helps you see how you evolved and see things with better judgment !
sometimes we forgot small details and when we read those pages the images the faces jump back to our memory some of them bring sad memories some makes you realy feel good .
what i like the most is the things i wrote about my school days and the crazy stuff we use to do . those were the great times of my life after that started the grown up thoughts and i can see the changes in my personality and my behavior at the age of 17 ... maturity was calling ...LOL...

And why is that Khello?! Can u please elaborate more?

I used to have my diaries since the age of 17, but I lost a big part of it No I'm trying to write few things all over again especially that I have small hints and a very good memory to remind of what I wrote

I've been writing my diaries daily since around 7 or 8 months.

Diaries might have bad and good experiences in it. However in my opinion, bad experiences should not hurt u when u read them again. They should learn u a lesson or maybe a moral I take all those bad and good experiences as something positive that happened with me during a certain period of my life.
