There was some days to fight a depression "epidemy" in my country lately, and to fight stereotypes about it. What i got to know is that if this constant sadness lasts for more than three weeks, it is a serious health problem. And then the best option is to go to a shrink and talk about it.
Here the problem is ppl are ashamed of doing that, not to be called a psycho. But as real depression is a sickness just like a cancer or diabetis or anything else, it is normal to go the doctor. So, it depends how serious your problem is, but you may try this.

Say no more Dalzi. I cant think of any more valid and legitimate reason for depression than going for a PHD.
Once upon the time I went to university, St Joseph's. Every morning I used to see how fresh and full of youth first year students were and then I look at second year students. You could easily tell they have aged like 7 years after the first year.Life was sucked out of their faces. Sa3etha tlo3et add 7ali w sa'atet. I never lived to regret it.
Dalzi, why in the name of God would you want to join the ranks of academics, isolate yourself from humanity, from its essence, its fun so you can have a couple of letters before your name? Oh my God what have you done to yourself?
And day after day, you live in a lonely shell wanting more and more to stimulate your mind and tempering with nihilism, a deep intellectual void filled with suppositions when we have other people to do so on our behalf?

Why is alienation so attractive for the sake an illusive glory that, most likely, means much less to you than you would like to think?

Unlearn, unlearn, unlearn what you already know because you now know too much and life is no longer a spontaneous succession of events but a product of a cognitive evolution and a cause and effect phenomenon.

Rain drops on roses, whiskers on kittens
brown paper packages tied up in strings
these are a few of my favourite things.

But No, that is not enough. Dalzi wants to know and analyse joy rather than feeling it. She wants to know the process rather than the effect. Oh what crime have you commited against yourself?
You answer me please this one question and I leave you to make the deduction, Which books gave the world more pleasure, Cinderella and snow white or those written by the like of Kant, Hegel and Shopenhauer? The truth is only what we know.

Forget about my earlier suggestion and get Prozac. It's a prescribed drug which helps with depression symptoms. and out of curiosity why cant you stay away from politics for a day. Believe me if we are here 20 years from now we'd still be talking about HA weapons, Sanioura Junior or Sr, Saad and Geageaa, Timour Jumblat and the like. A little break would do you a lot of good.

Finally, these feelings come and go we all feel them. Make sure tomorrow to go to the botanic garden, to its succulent sub-garden for desert plants. Close your eyes picture it in Hermel and live those moments of immortality while listening to Dvorak Cello concerto.

That is blasphemy! You should see the vitality, vibrancy, and vigorousness as I cheerfully carry those books in my hands.
I have to admit that they’re complicated though, but once you get through them you feel absolutely ecstatic.

What’s wrong with academics Shadow? I personally think academics as well as doctors (any kind of doctor) are very attractive ;) lol…

Khalas 3le2na, I’m afraid there’s no turning back... So Learn, learn, learn… You never get enough of learning.

Btw, the first word Gabriel said to the prophet Mohamad was “read”… “Recite in the name of thy Lord who created all”

Too late Shadow; if I'm ever lost, the first place to look for me is Fisher Library.

Both, and i'm into both myself.

Aha… ma hon lmishkle aslan… Shou 7adaratkon 3erfeen t7ello 3anni?!! Ella ma badkon t2ashtoune sle7e! Shaghaltouli bele… wilkon 7aram 3laikon trikoune baddi a3rif edros!

You see Shadow; I can’t stay away from politics because we’re more directly concerned than others. I have family on the border there… And believe me that feeling of insecurity isn’t easy at all. Add to that my strong attachment to that corrupt piece of land in the Middle East.

I'm gonna stick to this piece of advice!

I have a better sugestion get a gun (instead of cam) and start shooting people kidding .. hope your feeling better dalzi today ..I was feeling the same way yesterday .. I went for a walk picked some beautiful flowers on the way .. then I went back to work feeling cheerful again .. exercising can do wonders you know .. just try as much as you can to stay away from depression pills coz once your on them you will get addicted to em..only unles your really in a nervous breakdown! I find exercising is the best way to beat depression .. any kind of depression..and yet some people may find listening to music relaxes them or reading a book or going shopping or meditating .. It all depends on wat you like to do most !Keep smiling !

depression....
i passed by such feeling, last summer, during 2 months and half... oh god please ma ten3ad.... i was sadddd, alone, no work / coz of war, zarbe, i used to walk every night to relax a little bit, but cldnt stop my tears every night i swear every night crying and praying...
oufff nchala ma hada bya3mil depression bi hayeto.
now, ma fi chi bi2assir fiye , when i face trouble, i just smile. coz i think, troubles make us stronger, its just a game guys, and we have to win it, and test how strong we are... so simply.
so good luck for all depressed people, and in my opinion, go to the gym everyday, and if u can assit to a taiboo course, it helps alot. evitez le the, nescafe, cafe, try to have jus, yensoun,... instead.
and girls, htammo bi halkoun, and u will feel much better, beleive me. and go go go out, have fun, and feel: les regards des hommes, ca fortifie, et donne confiance
