it was a saturday morning (following a looonnngg friday night, bien arrosée )
so my bf got home and started to express his love etc etc.. and i was listening like usual and was like yeah yeah i like the alcohol effect on you... and then he was like Would you marry me?! .. i was like huh?! dude you don't know what you re talking about! he was like no i know i love you bla bla bla etc etc..and so he refused to go to bed before i give an answer..so i said yes and then i told him that his proposal doesn't count and that he needs to be sober next time :p
till now he insists that his proposal counts and that it's a unique way and it will be a fun story to tell to our grandchildren... and i still insist that it didn't count that he needs to be more sober and his reply is always "In vino veritas" (the truth is in the wine)

Well Boiler, if you are harbouring such intentions, I suggest you make it short and sweet. Say something like:
hey you, If you dont want to end up a spinster, spending the rest of your life being a burden on your family and crocheting these tacky things people put on the arms of their lounges, I suggest you marry me and let's grow old and ugly together. I give you one hour to think about it. If you say yes I am not one for crowded weddings full of women in sequined dresses and men soaking whisky as if it runs in rivers. If you say No my offer is forever off the table and rou7i allah ma3 dwaleebik. Mnee7 lli tol3it minnik mish minni.

You dont have to do it ghasban 3annak ya Freemind. What was common in my town back in the old days before we migrated en mass and our girls became all economically independent, people used to send a relative or a close friend and they do all the hard work for you.

I reckon this is extremely sensible in case things go wrong in the future. At least you've got someone to blame for this mishap. And if things go well you can always say it was your idea in the first place.

Another way of proposing happened. The whole family of the proposer, children and all, go and visit the girl's parents. His dad asks her dad and her dad asks her in front of everyone. She acts coy and surprised and you know then the rest is history.

Call me old fashioned ... but i will never never propose myself to him ...... i do believe that if a man really wants to spend the rest of his life with someone, he will propose to her and will never wait for the girl to do it.

Usually in relationships, unlike men , girls always seek for marriage ...So when a man decide to get married heyk on his own without any pressures on him, nothing will stop him from proposing... at the contrary he will do anything to be with the person who loves.
If he never proposed ya3ni he is not thinking of getting married min 2asslo .. why should i propose to him ???
