Default Cosmetics & Beauty - 29th April 2006

Hello everyone! I am a great FAN of beauty products!!

Right now my favourit brands are Shiseido and Chanel. I simply love their products!! From Shiseido I'm using the Pureness line. I also love Pore Minimizer of Clinique. It helps reduce pores I just love the effect of it on my skin.

I could be talking about this for hours and hours so I would like to know your favourit beauty products. And if someone is interested in this subject, share you opinion here!

welcome regina to this forum!
it's a nice subject and i want to start by introducing some factors in our society! some people, in general guys tend to believe that if you speak of beauty, make up, you're a shallow girl! they tend to forget what a successful, smart, wise woman you are, and you have a plus, you care about fashion, make up and stuff!

so in this thread: noone is allowed to come and criticize women who like or put make up!
if you have something to write about the topic, write it here, and stick to the subject of the thread!

since you seem an expert regina, i want to ask your opinion about l'oreal?! is it good for the skin!?

Inanna, please do not generalise ... not all guys think this way.

it is natural for women to talk about beauty factor to remain beautiful , which is something we appreciate much.

And a woman who work on her beauty is not a shallow woman. To the opposite, she is a woman who found success in both her personnal life and professional life, which is something really impressive

Thank you Inanna, Chief and mephisto794 for your welcome!
Very interesting what you had wrote!

Personally, I always loved cosmetic and make up! I think every women should care for their appearance. Not (only) to please men but for ourselves. Treat well our face is not a contradiction with inteligence. I don't jugde anyone but frankly I could not leave my house to go to college without some make up on my face. Even if I lived in a desert island I would care for my skin.

My skin is very sensitive that's why I have to use expensive brands. I know that a cheap brand (like Nivea or Dove) doesn't mean that the product is bad, but in my case everytime I use this kind of brands my skin react with allergies.

For Inanna: about Loreal, I like this brand in shampoos. But only Loreal Professional (products sold in Hairdressers). They are amazing!! Loreal Paris shampoos (sold in supermarket) are not good for my hair.

I really love to try new beauty products. (I don't smoke, I don't drink, some paranoia I must have! ) I think that a very good moisturizer is essential to every women not only to be pretty but also to mantain our skin out of allergies and sensibilities caused for desidratation. Usually make up has sun protection factor (spf) in their composition so it helps to avoid skin cancers. The best anti-age product for all of us (woman or man, young or older) is a sun-protection cream! Lebanon is such a hot country, everyone should use it! What sun-protectors do you use?

More guys replied in this thread then girls and here is a new one (me).
Anyway I am a pro make up for girls uno if it makes her look better why not hayda l matloob right. Make up wont transform a person it will just improve him.

You may think thats strange but I really feel strange if a girl passes infront of me with no parfume smell.

Hala2 la seule chose negative I have to point to is that those make up are tooooooooo expensive, Uno my mom could feed a african country with the money she uses for all those creme (you know one for every inch of the face).

And Inanna the creme of my mom contain sun protection, when we go somewhere we come back red she is the only one not burned so I think your everyday cremes do the job. But not sure.

And about creme for men my mom bought some for my dad but he only uses them when he remember (and thats once every month) So I guess you have to like using those stuff to use them and most men don't.

I agree with this, lebanese_a! In fact make-up makes us look better, but it won't transform us in another person. I would hate that. I love strong make up on my eyes because they are my best feature but I can't forget to use make up apropriated to brown eyes, like mine.

I can't leave home without some eau de parfum. Perfum is so important to hygiene like a bath cleanser. Now I'm using "Happy to be" of Clinique, but my favourit one is Addict, from Dior. It lasts a whole day long.

With all the respect lebanese_a, I think I would love to meet your mom we would be very close friends because I started to work a few years ago and I spend fortunes every month in beauty products! I can't help it. My mom is using Creme de la mer since she has a very sensitive skin. But this one for me is too rich, I have combination skin.

Sun protection is very, very important! It's the best anti-age cream since sun burns are the principal cause of wrinkles. I don't mind to be white all the year, including summer. My friends (girls) have few wrinkles around eyes and mouth and their skin after summer are always very dry, because they don't use sun protection as they should. Oh and don't forget water: 8 cups of water a day, specially if you smoke.
