I neither drink coffee nor smoke.
I think part of our personal development path is to be able to minimize rituals/types of addictions that can hurt our mental and physical health.

After all, what is the use of 'reading', 'experiencing', being namely intellecutal, aiming to progress if we can't put them into practice!!

I do drink coffee, but certinaly not addicted. Actually the way I luv it most is with nestle milk and nescafe...mmmmmmm! I used to be an addict BIG TIME!...like 7 or 8 cups a day, until I "overdosed" once...started sweating, palpitations, stomach-ache and feeling cold&warm at same time! ...then stopped completely after that. It took me about 3 weeks to get over.
After many, many overnights/nuit blanche I realized that I only feel incredibly sleepy at about 4am...if i can stay awake till 4:30am, then I I can last till afternoon!!! I read somewhere that only 5% of the population can do over-nights without coffee. Lucky me!

Default Coffee Addiction & Health Risks - 27th April 2006

It is really confusing! I am a person that need my morning coffee before anything else! It is like a ritual and a day without one will be a different day!
2 to 3 cups of coffee and I always try to lessen them.. bass

Since people talk so much about some health risks with drinking coffee, I have tried to stop it or to alter it with non-caffeine, but couldn't.

So, I have done some research and almost every time there is some research contradicting the previous one...

Here is a latest one, from Harvard saying:
For the moderate drinker, coffee is safe

But some traditionally popular health risks connected to coffee are:
  • Coffee Leads To Heart Disease
  • Coffee Causes Ulcers
  • Coffee Is Bad For Reproductive Health

How much coffee do you drink? Are you worried about consequences?
Have you tried quitting?
Anybody with some bad experience with this??
