Btw, it was supposed to be a Christian ritual as well since Christianity is the unwanted daughter of Judaism, as claimed. However, the founder of the Church- Peter if i`m not wrong :), decided to delete this ritual for he believed that Christianity should be completely separate and different from Judiasm. He wanted once and for all to disconnect the newly born Religion from the old one. Don`t forget that Jesus himself and all his disciples were Jewish, so they was definitly circumsized.

It is healthy, hygenic and good if its done at an early age, but it can be a nightmare if done at a mature age.

My account of it, 1st hand..

Public hospitals to ban circumcision

Suellen Hinde and Kelvin Healey

August 12, 2007 12:00am

CIRCUMCISION will be banned in Victorian public hospitals unless it is for medical reasons.

The State Government has ordered the ban, which starts next month, following medical advice that circumcision of baby boys was unnecessary.

Health Minister Daniel Andrews said circumcisions would be performed only when doctors were concerned about infection or disease.

"Nationally and overseas, doctors agree there is no medical benefit to routine circumcision, and studies show the complication rate is about 5 per cent," Mr Andrews said.

The $2 million a year saved by the ban will be spent on urgent elective surgery.

"It is important to ensure hospital services are prioritised towards treating patients who have a clinical need for surgery to improve their health," Mr Andrews said.

Ministerial Advisory Committee on Elective Surgery chairman Prof Michael Grigg said it was hard to justify spending taxpayers' money on routine circumcision.

"We should be spending relatively scarce health dollars as effectively as we can to benefit the maximum number of people," he said.

Prof Grigg said circumcision had marginal health benefits for some people, but also had a risk of complication.

About 2200 circumcisions were performed by Victorian public hospitals in the 2005-06 financial year.

Parents who want to have their sons circumcised for religious reasons will have to use a private hospital.

Circumcision Removes the Most Sensitive Parts of the *****

A sensitivity study of the adult ***** in circumcised and uncircumcised men shows that the uncircumcised ***** is significantly more sensitive. The most sensitive location on the circumcised ***** is the circumcision scar on the ventral surface. Five locations on the uncircumcised ***** that are routinely removed at circumcision are significantly more sensitive than the most sensitive location on the circumcised *****.

In addition, the glans (head) of the circumcised ***** is less sensitive to fine touch than the glans of the uncircumcised *****. The tip of the foreskin is the most sensitive region of the uncircumcised *****, and it is significantly more sensitive than the most sensitive area of the circumcised *****. Circumcision removes the most sensitive parts of the *****.

This study presents the first extensive testing of fine touch pressure thresholds of the adult *****. The monofiliment testing instruments are calibrated and have been used to test female genital sensitivity.

Having experienced both sides of the coin at a grown up age, I am totally against male circumcision except from when its required medically. This is an unjustafiable act against your baby sons that can reduce their enjoyment of their sexuality at a grown-up age by 10-90%. Are you willing to do that? I even read about some guy who sued his parents for destroying his sex-life with this kind of operation when he was a kid.
Those who have religious reasons behind it must read it into context of modern times. We live in an age where most people in this world have access to both hygienic items and information on how to avoid deceases. I honestly think that this was introduced among human beings as a way to stay clean, I dont see the logic if God put it there in the first place just to tell the human beings to cut it away.

ITS NOT BANNED, It's just off the free list cause of cutbacks, You can still get it done at any hospital, Providing you get a private specialist to do the operation,

If I am not mistaken, it was Paul (and not Peter, but I might be mistaken, and it might even be all the gang together deciding in common), that decided that Christians did not have to circumcise... I remember having read that passage (in the Acts of the Apostles), and it did not remove that rule in order to be "different" from Judaism, but because it didn't want to force non-Jews to circumcise for becoming Christians...

Pagans who wanted to become Christians were asking if they needed to circumcise, hence a debate arose from that question. Since it might have become an issue that might displease those worried, and scare them off from joining the new religion, they decided it was not longer necessary!

PS: the AIDS issue is a stupid one... It's like that cutting your leg will reduce risks of lung cancer if you smoke... Actually it's even worse! It's like saying: "hey, you might get AIDS anyways, so please, cut your ***** off so you don't get it!

It is not the fact of not circumcising it that makes a man unhygienic. These two men must have been unhygienic by themselves!

Blaming a piece of skin for your non-hygienicness, is like blaming your racket for being bad at tennis.
