I dated 2 LFers before,
Well at first it is hard, but later they wont dare to think about "shou esmo Hayda".
Whenever they realize what my position and how much i am dedicated to the FPM being LFer is out of the debate, or me or LF.
It seems they chose LF

Anyways currently the first term on my "list" is being FPMer,
Cuz honestly i dont want to waste my time on silly debates according her political opinion, and if she/anyone of her family, curses GMA or Attack FPM, well it will be the end of the relation.

Hey OA,

My gf and her family have completely an opposite political view yet we've been together for a long time and we're trying to overcome the differences.

If one of them is very involved and the other is just a supporter of another side, it's not very bad.

If both are heavily involved and they go to weekly meeting etc etc, then the problem will be bigger.

In the beginning everyone thought that it will be very difficult for me to accept it, but you'll be suprised that from day 1, I put this difference behind me and we've known to be the closest couple ever.

I avoid having political debates ( specially related to the parties we belong to) in public specially infront of her. I avoid debating with her parents and they do the same.

If you want it to succeed, IT WILL. Holding this point a reason of the failure of the relation is just an excuse.

My sister married a LFer but it was in the mid 90s and he was a cousin.

15 years of marriage and he doesn't curse GMA infront her or us out of Respect.
