Can you get committed to a person having divergent political opinion?

Hey everyone you are confusing being atracted to someone with liking someone, you can be attracted to an LFer (or whoever you don't like) from 100 metres away without knowing him bass when u get to know him you wont like him.

Sure I can, that goes without saying, as long as the other person has basic respect for others' opinion.

there's nothing wrong with being involved or liking politics, but if you can't respect someone else's diverging opinion, maybe you should stay away from politics altogether.

As for the entire topic, I really thought about it.. As long as there are no political debates and we're in love.. and he doesnt look like her :P then I'm ok. But the kids would definitely be FPM :P

I don't think it's a matter of being attracted to someone of a different political opinion.

Difference of political opinions (as any opinions) are fine, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

My sticking point would be how closed minded and passionate those people are about those opinions. If they're willing to discuss openly and are willing to listen to others, then that wouldn't be an issue. However, if they're too fanatical and closed minded, there is no way I'd last 5 minutes.

Anyway, it depends, if the difference is fundamental on the party's idea of the individual, then such a relationship is impossible. For example, I am a liberal, there's no way I can be with an over-conservative girl, I can't be with a girl whose fundamental political beliefs are religious, or fanatic etc... This part of politics reflects the way of life of the individual.

However, if the difference is only about wide political views, meaning I'm FPM, and she's SSNP, but we're both easy going, we have fun, hang out, enjoy ourselves, then there's no problem with that at all.

belonging to different political parties may cause trouble! but only in lebanon i guess! we should act and be mature enough to respect the other no matter what! after all you're respecting his choice in life!
