First of all untruths are not necessarily lies. And the truth as it ought to be is much sexier than the truth as it really is. Embroidering reality with threads of colourful magic makes it more delectable. So much of life is subjective. The key in all of this is to avoid harming anyone. Do you remember how much you were delighted with the stories of my wretched wife.
As for those who want to hear the truth all the time, my heart goes out to them as I couldnt think of anything worse. There are times when self-deception could be a temporary reprieve from the oppresson of reality. 2008 was just a living hell for me ( I shall regale you one day with the sordid details) and I made it through by telling myself all sorts of lies: The truth as it ought to be. And when that dark cloud passed over and there was no more need to lie, I descended to the real world and have been yawning eversince.

If someone is asking a person to always be honest with him and to tell him the truth even if it was hard and painful .... Why he doesn't respect that wish and tell him the truth ???
|
Some people are averse to sadistic tendencies. One must respect and admire that. Let's not always jump to extremes. There are ways to be tactful. Example. This girl at work was transferred to another branch and came to visit today I said to her: "Paulina, how nice to see you, I missed your ugly face". So I gave her half the truth not to hurt her feelings. But she can see through me and she said: I love you too and more than the plague".

If someone's lie is more hurtful than the truth, that simply means the person does not know how to lie period. He should give up lying altogether.
