Post Abu Charbel & Abu Ali - 2nd October 2007

These are two interesting stories I have come across in my life, rest assured they are 100% real.

It's about two guys from south Lebanon, Abu Charbel from Bint Jbeil, a shia muslim and Abu Ali, a christian from Yaroun.

Abu Charbel, my local butcher, was married at a young age and his wife miscarried a few too many times. His wife couldn't keep her pregnancy for longer than 2 months. It always puzzled me why a muslim would name his edlest son Charbel, but I never had the courage to ask the man, until my father told me his story.

In a dream he saw a person that said to him your wife is currently pregnant, he had no idea that this was the case. He was told in this dream that the only way your son would live is if you named him Charbel, after the well known saint.

He did not pay attention to the dream as he was sure his wife was not pregnant, but a few weeks passed and he received the news that his wife is actually pregnant. He decided that if it is actually a boy he would name him Charbel, just as the man in the dream recommended.

Sure enough his wife had a baby boy named Charbel, who currently works with him in the butcher shop.

The story of Abu Ali the christian is quite similar, my grandmother told me that his wife had 5 still born baby boys, and he saw a person in a dream who told him to name his son Ali and that he would live. Sure enough he decided if he does have a bay boy he will most certainly name him Ali, which ofcourse happenned and his son is now in his late 50's still living in Yaroun.

What do you make of these instances? Are they amazing stories, or some weid coincidece? If they are amazing what would be the moral of the story here? If they are coincidences then how could this be?

Reminds me of Abu Hussein from Rmeish :D. I can't remember the exact number of daughters he has, but he wanted a boy and the boy was very stubborn. Then Abu Hussein vowed to name his awaited child Hussein if God gives him a boy. And so it happened.

You know not to use that word, certain people get irritated when they hear it.

Both those people exist, 100% sure about it. Maybe you're looking at it from the wrong angle?
