هل من الممكن ان نكتفي ذاتيا من ناحية القطاع الطبي ...فكما هو معلوم اصلا هناك اتخام من ناحية المجال الطبي ...
اذا ممكن ان نستفيد من هؤاء الافراد بدل ان يبقوا في منازلهم ونعاني من البطالة

To answer your question, no, Lebanon cannot be autonomous in making all medicines, as there are many medicines that require very sophisticated and expensive manufacturing that only big worldwide companies can do. However, many other medicaments can be done in Lebanon.

To add some spice, if Lebanon invests its opium fields into medicine (such as morphine), that would be a true gold mine.

it takes on average 15 years to be able to put 1 drug on the market with a cost ranging between 0.5-1 billion$...

your best bet name is on generic drugs... i.e after a drug is on the market for 15 years, other companies are allowed to reproduce it...

i cant understand why we dont give a chance to those fresh graduated at least they will have an opportunities for work its not that big deal we have animals we can do an experiences on them after all this section could be a solution for " excess " of graduated ppl in those following majors :

medical lab . medicine . biochemistry . pharmacy etc etc et c

That is correct, Medicine is one of the very rare thing where no one can hold exclusive rights of production forever, they just give a period of time so that the inventor takes advantage, but because it is for the good of all mankind, no one has the right to take for example the cure of cancer to the grave, or monopolize it forever.

Kolar, if the medicine is properly regulated by the Health ministry and cheating is not tolerated, there won't be any problems. In the end, paracetamol, if done right, will be paracetamol, no matter if the label on the medicine says BAYER or أدوية أبو الزوز hehe, so you also need a lot of organization at the health ministry, including testing lab, and strict procedures for giving licenses.

how about we privatize the mobile sector to produce one drug?

We dont have the capabilities to launch such an industry...

our national GDP is around 20billion$/year...

Georges W Bush signed a "nanotechnology bill" couple of years back worth 4billion$...

can we afford that? no!

It would be nice if we can have a partnership with the US or the EU regarding research, but in order to get to that stage, you need to have the proper infrastructure which we currently lack...

Well basically what happens is that NGOs monitor the manufacturing, and the government who is also monitoring the manufacturing.

I can fairly assume that the International Narcotics Control Board, which is a branch of the United Nations, deals with such issues. But I am not very knowledgeable of how those systems work exactly.

But definitely, if we are talking about exporting, then if they don't hold international certificates of standards, there's no chance to sell a single pill.
